Suspicious Water

Across from my living room window is a water storage warehouse. What’s usual is that no one works inside the warehouse. From my living room window I occasionally see small open-back trucks drove up to load water but I have never seen water offload. The only thing I can see inside the warehouse is a water hose and stocks of nicely pack water bottles. There’s no water treatment facilities inside the warehouse so I’m wonder about the water purification. This’s just personal observation because I spent lots of time on my computer looking at the warehouse.
I also noticed my hotel water taste like tab water so I have ordered delivery from another company.

How much do you have to pay for safe water? It might pay to treat your own by using a reverse osmosis filter with a UV sterilizer. It all depends on how much you have to pay and how careful you want to be about having safe and good-tasting water.

Water sterilization/filtration units are available in Vietnam. You will often see them at trade fairs. However, they are not a very practical solution unless you are an apartment/home owner or have a quite long lease.

A high-capacity ceramic filter costs less than $200 and is a tabletop appliance. It will process thousands of gallons of water and can be cleaned and re-used by the owner. It is used by missionaries and the like all over the world where people need a reliable supply of safe drinking water.

I don't think anyone drinks tap water, even in hotels. Locals boil water to save money, but that doesn't filter out metals. Bottled water deliver is cheap, we paid 24.000 in Phu My Hung 3-4 times a month.

Since I have seen some videos about water bottling in Vietnam, I have also become careful with bottled water.

We only drink water from well-known bottled water producers.
Vinh Hao and La Vie are as far as I know the only mineral waters from springs in the north and cost about 60-65k/20L.
Vihawa, Sapuwa and Aquafina are certified water purifiers with good water quality and cost about 40-45k/20L.
I think other water purifiers that offer water for 20k/20L or less do not match the water quality of the well known certified water purifiers.

Then it could look like in the videos or the neighbour of the OP.
