Freezing temperatures last night. Now snowing in late afternoon, and it is "sticking" and not melting away.
38F today in Vegas.
98% chance of chemtrails.
I went to work, blue sky quite warm for December I guess. I left work at 1am, Bloody cold and snowing. Slow drive back as the country roads had not been gritted.
I need one of these

Bit dangerous. Maybe get a large pick up truck or strangely, in AT, everyone seems to like vintage tractors. Only a short step to putting a blade on the front.

38 F = 3 C
That's really cold. Never expected to hear that in LV.
Why chemtrails? From planes?
10 cm of snow here yesterday. It is still around this morning, and we got a light dusting overnight.
klsallee wrote:10 cm of snow here yesterday. It is still around this morning, and we got a light dusting overnight.
Yes, same in my village. Means sledging, snowmen and snow angels.
Mrs Fluffy parked the car in the garden before the snow. I don't know how it's going get out of there as it's in a bit of a muddy dip.
50F in Vegas and sunny.
2.5 C in Budakeszi, very sunny but low in sky, snow on ground and icy all over.
Dog asleep on blanket - forest walk tomorrow AM.
Hearty vegetable soup planned for lunch.
End of school for Xmas/New Year.
Possibility of seeing new Aquaman movie at cinema over the weekend.
Woke up this morning, walked outside, and was shocked. There was almost an unbroken blanket of snow everywhere yesterday and all the week before, and today it was all gone. Nothing left. High temp hit 9°C today. Felt warm and balmy compared to the past few days.

Yes, same here but drizzling and raining on and off. Temp about 6 C. Didn't take the dog but taking it soon as we didn't fancy walking in the rain. A lot of snow is melting leaving a muddy mess outside in the garden. There is a lot of cloud cover but over to the West we can see a bit of blue clear sky. Looks like a week of above zero during the day and below zero at night. If we are lucky, now we've passed the shortest day, things will start to pick up and be reasonable once more.
Happy Xmas to all!
Or whatever your festival is for this time of year! Human Light (Humanist), Hanukka (Judaism), Yule (British Celtic pagan) etc.
Yesterday was windy and sunny but now very cloudy and looks like some weak snow verging on rain is starting. Probably won't settle as temperature too high. 3 C with a chill factor of perhaps -2 to -3C.
A bit of drizzle today. Actually rather "warm", if one can call 4°C warm. But in December, I would. But that is just me.
Drizzle here too. 3.5 C.
Wet dog forecast for hallway.
Overnight a bit of rain. Sunny earlier today in the morning. Now very blustery and snowing.
Was snowing this morning and very windy. Snow stopped, then it became sunny but still windy. Temp around 2C in a sheltered spot. Forecast says cold and not above zero for about 10 days. Yuck.
-2 or -3 C and heavy snow with fine flakes. Snow layering on previous falls. 8/8 cloud cover. Visibility about 3-4km. Pressure downward trend.
Heavy snow overnight 8-10cm but very sunny 4 or 5 C with some snow melting where the sun reaches. 0 C in the shade. Barometer steady. Dog wet.
6 deg C, scattered clouds, 6/8, with patches of sunshine, high winds over 20 kph, snow melting. Tomorrow expected 9 C with considerable snow melt, mud and slush. Dog outside destroying the garden.
We are lucky our way, it snows late afternoon nothing comes to it and its gone by the next day. Its been like this for the week. But other places have had an a hell of a lot of snow. Getting a bit bored of thbid weather and wind now. Roll on the Summer

Yes, indeed. Beautiful warm weather predicted for today and tomorrow.
Perfect outdoor, work in the garden weather.
So why am I not outside?
Because one of the.... @&!!%#?!&&&..... neighbors thought today was the perfect day to burn wet garbage in their yard and pollute the entire area to the extent being outside breathing acrid smoke was a bitter experience.
I am so tired of self centered, stupid people......

Hmmm....aren't they only allowed to burn it certain times of the year?
We have a timetable we're allowed to follow, like only Fridays (0800-2000) and Saturdays (0800-1200) during October and November and other times of the year. Certainly only garden waste - no plastic or tyres (that's really bad).
We're supposed to go to the town hall buy stickers (100 Ft each), put our garden ("bio") waste in degradable plastic bags for collection and apply the sticker one per bag. I think it gets collected once a month mainly in spring and autumn.
We also have a compost heap on the go but we don't find it very effective. I made a new one and it seems better but at this time of the year, it's not very "active", i.e. steaming.

You think people in small villages actually follow the law????? Or the the local government, made up of local people, actually act on illegal issues?
That is cute.
Really, cute, since this neighbor I mentioned is actually on the local village council. What odds of anything happening when the fish stinks from the head? And on a small island (or village), the locals often find it "unwise" to file complaints, or to have disagreements, else..... what goes around comes around.

Dunno about cute. I'm not that keen on smelly fish.
Nosey people here would send the cops around as they are apt to do for just about any minor event. But this isn't really a small village, 3000 people I think and increasing. And it's really a burb of Budapest.
My neighbour with our land (in dispute) is "connected" here and I am sure he's been able to sabotage us for ages by arguing through his mates. But now it's regional level and he's lost his superpowers. We still haven't got the final decree and we had the provisional decree in August 2018. So much for 30 days.
Mrs Fluffy told me we have too many chickens (5 vs apparent regulation 4) but has anything happened about it? No, because the neighbours (even Mr Evil with our land) benefits by a box of eggs every so often and our chickens are quiet and discrete.
Overcast and rainy here this morning in Vegas.
Rare for it to rain here at all.
Yesterday was sunny and really nice, just a light jacket was needed, no hat, gloves or scarf.
I hate having to bundle up in layers of heavy clothing, seems like we missed another gloomy winter in HU.
It would be nice there if it really snowed and stuck to the ground or didn't snow at all, that light snow that melts and makes everything wet and muddy is the worst over there.

Like here but without the snow. It was about 8 or 9 C today so all the snow is melting. It was possible to go around without a coat.
It's very much as you say. The streets are very dirty and wet and much snow remains turning gardens into a huge muddy mess. Next week, it'll be -10 C at night so there's a chance of more snow sticking.
We might see a general increase in temperature in week or two and once above zero, it might start to dry out a bit when there's a bit of wind.
It's about 45 F here and still gloomy and overcast.
Even so it won't stay gloomy for long here.
Guys working on the cars today, good day for bonding and fixing cars in a garage.
Dang wish we had a garage in Hungary, could fix allot of things.
Taking off the passenger door of one of the cars.
Son got a good deal on the car from 2 old players who were brothers. One ran into the side of a semi-truck and smashed up the door, we are changing it out for a new door ourselves so we can resale the car soon.
Husband spent hours on the internet figuring how to fix some hoses in the exhaust system so the car could pass the safety here, I'm sure he saved our son thousands of dollars on the repairs. Hoses in the manifold and other places, about 9 of them had to be changed out to pass the smog here.
I love that he is handy with fixing things, at least it has kept him from over gambling!
Reminds me we must go out today and pick up our 3rd in a series of 5 bottles of vodka that one casino is giving away for "players" I do not wish to know how much those bottles actually cost us! Also they are giving away nice large sets of copper cookware every week a free buffet for 2 every week anytime even for their dinner menu plus tomorrow if we don't mind getting in line, free tickets to Billy Idol.... Maybe no one will be in line for his show, he is very old school after all,
Off topic sorry....

Car doors I find are very hard to get aligned. Take them off and it's really difficult to get them back exactly as they should do. Last time I did it was about 40 years ago! It's really useful to have a garage I agree. Especially in this cold weather. I've got to replace my car batteries. Yes, plural, there are two. Quite a lot of off road cars have two batteries. Be doing that tomorrow. 32K HUF for one.
And to keep vaguely on topic summarising your weekend as weather....
So I guess in Vegas we could say it's overcast with vodka, with copper cookware expected late week. A spot or two of dinner could occur on high ground. For those in the towns there will be a stormy evening with Billy Idol giving it the Rebel Yell with his zimmer frame and towards early morning it'll be hot and steamy once the concert clouds have cleared.
Exciting news:
Snowdrops spotted in gardens!
No sign of daffodils or tulips rising yet.
Sunny and crisp in Vegas.
Wonderfully warm yesterday (Jan 17th). About 13 °C
Cooler today (4°C) and rain.
-4.5 C overnight, showing +2.5C now, hint of sunshine, clouds but very high. Could lead to a more consistent outbreak of sunny weather. Slight breeze. Starting to look - optimistically - a bit spring like.
Was very cold this morning. Walk with the dog I kept my hands in my pockets. Gloves were not enough.
Read there is a "polar vortex" thing happening. And I see we should get cold weather for the next week.
Darn. I loved the warmish weather till now.
Woke up this morning to snow. Not a lot. Maybe 2.5 cm (1 inch).
Dog still wanted to go for a walk. And wanted to do the long walk through the forest. Good choice, actually. It was a nice walk to see everything in the forest with a dusting of snow and ours the first and only foot prints*.
* Except for wildlife: Deer, rabbit, fox.
06.00h
-8C
Very crispy and crunchy underfoot with sparkles of ice in the snow.
-6 C snowing overnight, about 3-4cm, overcast with visibility 2-3km.
No sign of snow clearing/snow ploughs.
SimCityAT wrote:Good you got it as well Fluffy
Mrs Fluffy reports chaotic transport in the area. Looks like the authorities were caught on the hop with no snow clearing in operation. Quite a lot of car bumps and everyone is late for work.
