Hmnn...   Good luck with that...

Currency in Viet Nam Dong is in notes only

I only use USD and VND.   Thai Baht notes
only when in Thailand, but I get rid of (all)
coins before leaving

The money exchange (shop) I use told me that
they won't accept (any) coins.  Ok with me as
I don't like carrying them anyway

I never exchange at (any) airport as their rates
are too high.  (I have a Jewish gene...)    :proud
..but they might take euro coins..?

Google also might help?
.

Keep em in an envelope for next time you visit. I have a box of envelopes of different currencies, helpful to have some starter money when you travel.

Thats really weird, I have been coming to Vietnam as a tourist investor and I have never changed money in a bank, always in a Jewelry store, so I have been breaking the law??  Jewelry stores need $$ to buy Gold, he exchange rate is always above official rates, but past few years, not much  more than official rate, but if you're changing $10,000 that is a big difference. :(

Sometimes it  not easy to fully comply with law and regulations especially law in a developing country.

The fine in vnexpress happened in small city only. It have to admit that jewelry stores didnt tell you whether they are authorized or not ...
