Hello everybody,
I have applied and paid for a settlement Visa for my Dominican wife and daughter to move and live in the U.K. I have employed the services of am immigration layer in the U.K to make sure all papers are correct and everything goes to plan etc. It seems that now we have paid and booked the appointment for the biometrics etc at the VFS Santo Domingo that there is no direct information where to submit the paperwork as it states that "settlement visa applications" need to have the papers posted to Sheffield in the U.K and all other visa applications need to have the papers submitted to the visa application centre here in Santo Domingo to be posted to New York. My immigration layer has written to the U.K.V.I to try to find out and they have replied saying they do not know!!!
Does anyone have any information or experience with the same situation I am in i.e Where to submit documents for a settlement visa for the U.K.
Many forward thanks to all....
Worried but hopeful...... Nick.

Hi Guineo, Yes I've read through everything multiple times and it states that settlement visa supporting documents are not to be submitted at the biometric appointment here in Santo Domingo which would mean they would be sent to Sheffield in the U.K but the U,Kvp will not confirm this and say they do not know which I find a bit worrying as they make the rules for all of this process. Plus if I have to have the documents here on the day but have sent them to the U.K I am going to be in a right mess! Thanks for the heads up :)

Have faith in our Foreign Office Services.

My advice is to follow what they state on the VFS link provided and take all the documentation listed and get their biometrics done. Without that happening nothing starts.

Their settlement visa application documentation will not be scanned there and sent for processing like other visas as stated, but I have quiet confidence they will tell you all what to do with that paperwork, probably after they check it is complete.

Why would your lawyer write to the UKVI? Perhaps it would have been a good idea for your wife or you to have written to or contacted the UK Visa Centre or Consulate in Santo Domingo about your query. I have found UK staff very responsive here in Santo Domingo.
