Moving furniture from Houston to Morelia, Michoacán

We are planning to buy a moving trailer (for furniture) here in Houston and making a road trip to Morelia where we have a family home. Has anyone done this recently? We would like to sell the trailer in Morelia before returning to Houston. I retired this year. My boyfriend is nearing retirement and we will live in our Morelia home half of the time. The remodel cost twice the estimate so purchasing all new furnishings in Morelia is out of the question. Please advise.
