Hello All
My employer is launching the single permit process for me to move to Brussels. I have question regarding document required for single permit. My employer/immigration company has asked for social security A1 certificate of Coverage from US Social security department which is expected to take 2 months plus the single permit process of 3-4 months.
I wanted to check if the social security department was required by your employer before filing for single permit or not??
Checking the documents required on Belgium consulate it is nowhere listed.
Thanks
Flanders it is.

1. Its not normal Employer should pay the processing fee.
2. Just inform your employer your wife is no more dependent and she is earning, You will see surprise in your salary as your net reduces.
3. Tax will be more.
Best regards
My employer still insists to pay the processing fee of 358 EUR For tax, both myself & my wife will be taxed more then ?
Should the Originals of Medical Certificate , Police Clearance Certificate be sent to the employer for Single Permit Processing ?
My Belgian employer got only the scanned copies of those documents from me. I currently work in Belgium - Expat contract.
The visa fees should be paid by the EMPLOYEE SINCE THE VISA APPLICATION WILL BE IN THE NAME OF THE EMPLOYEE. EMPLOYER USUALLY RE-IMBURSES THE AMOUNT once you join.

Hi, Did you applied from Belgium ? Change of employer here in Belgium or from India.
Hope you can help.
Hello Everyone,
I had one question regarding receiving the physical residence permit card after arrival in Belgium. I got my single permit recently and will be travelling to Belgium this week so where should I register/collect my RP from? I'll be staying in Antwerp and how long does it take to get the RP card.
Thanks!
Hello Everyone,
Looking for a few answers here. I earlier had a 1 year resident permit and my new employer filed for a single permit earlier in May.
I finally received an approval email from dofi with the three documents but I observed that the registration number/national number on those documents is different from the one I already had in my previous resident permit card.
Can someone please confirm either of the below things :
1. Someone who applied for renewal from old resident permit to single permit - did you have the same registration/national number on the documents received in the email as your old registration/national number ?
2. Those who got it for the first time - did you receive the same number on the physical card as the one mentioned in the documents you received ?
I am hoping that this doesn't land me in trouble with different registation numbers as I have already linked everything in Belgium with the one I already have.
Thanks
Shivam

Hi,
Just go to city hall to receive official answers...
yeah, exactly the answer I was looking for like everyone else
An update on my timeline
Region - Flanders
Reason - change of employer
Application date - 6 June
Additional information requested - 17 July
First stage complete - 24 July
Single permit - 13 August
Thanks everyone for sharing information.
Shivam,
Based on my experience,
Registration number was same
Card number was different
You might have to check with your commune on implications.
Thanks Pravin,
After a hold of 15 minutes, my call got through with IBZ Single Permit Personnel.
After listening to the query, they finally confirmed with below information:
===============================================================================
Best,
There is only one national register number in the file: ********* . The other file is an internal DVZ number (a so-called semi-national number). The latter number is merged with the existing national register number.
With best regards,
===============================================================================
So everything looks good, thank you

My Belgian employer (Flanders) got only the scanned copies of those documents from me. I currently work in Belgium - Expat contract.
I'm afraid that it might delay the processing, if the originals are required.

I had applied for Single permit and my file has been recieved by ministry on 12th July, as confirmed from my agency.
It's has been a month now, I did not receive the confirmation on admissibility nor Work authorization yet.
Also, I have a question that I am temporarily left Belgium and presently in India. I have with me my residence permit which is valid till end of November.
I need to travel to Belgium during start of October to start working, since I have my residence permit, I should be able to travel to Belgium, but if I receive the Work Authorization before October, will I able to start working for my new employer?
Anyone to reply on my query ??
You will be able to work only when you receive single permit. i.e. not possible to work only with work authorization.
Is there anyone get admissibility letter after 25th June. It takes more than 50 days and still nothing. My company said Normally government gives response 10 days.
My application was applied on 25th June, still no communication. When was your applied ?
Thanks

Nope, the process can go based on the copy. Mine was done this way. No worries

Just wanted to ask the same! Can someone help pls with it??
Hi Kostadorn
Below are details and u can find the same in dofi.ibz.be website. U have to carry rental contract of your appartment (in belgium) along with other docs (annex 46/47 and other 2 docs sent by ibz) to the commune where u reside/stay.
2) Issuance of the single permit
The non-European citizen must apply for registration in the aliens' register of the place where he resides, and the issue of a single permit within 8 working days of his entry into Belgium.
He must present his passport, Annex 46 or 47, as well as the two documents sent by the Aliens Office together with the annex (decision of work authorization or work certificate, and decision of authorization of stay or attestation stay).
Pending the residence check and issuing the single permit, the municipal administration gives him a document certifying that he has presented himself (Annex 49). This document temporarily covers his stay for 45 days; it can be extended twice for 45 days (2 X 45 days).
If the result of the residence survey is positive, the municipal administration issues a single document authorizing the non-European citizen to work and stay for more than 90 days in Belgium (single permit). This document takes the form of an A card, with a reference to access to the labor market .

Hi dear,
Indeed, this is what they say on the ibz website. But in the reality, you cannot get into commune without an appointment and all applications goes only online. Still, they say it can take couple of weeks until they invite me.
So, my question is how it really goes in the reality with ppl who just reside. You make an appointment or you just pick up all your papers and go to the city hall?
Hi Kosterdorn,
You may directly go to the commune with required documents. Apointment is recommended but not mandotory. After you submit the document commune will issue you annex 49 which has validity of 45 days (can be renewed if you do not receive Rp). You need to pay fees 25 euro. Also make sure you buy a phone sim card before visiting commune because police will contact you on that number before visiting your house ( mostly in 2 weeks). Police will send positive report to the commune. After that you will receive PIN number in your letterbox which you have to bring commune to recieve RP. Whole process may take 30 days to 3 months depending on your commune.
Hey guys,
Any update of anyone who applied after 15th June. Any news on admissibility or Work Authorization?

Hello guys I have a question on residence permit in different communes. Based upon your experience in Brussels region, which communes require your or spouse Birth Certificate? I was told by my immigration company that some communes may require it and some may not for residence permit. So i wanted to check on your recent experience in different communes.
I have been living in US for last 15 years and my birth certificate is in native language and to get it translated and apostilled it will take lot of time and effort as it will need to be done in India.
My preference is to live in Etterbeek/Ixelles.
Thanks
