Does anyone knows if one can travel to belgium while the single permit application is in process. As a US Citizen I do not need a visa to travel to belgium for stay upto 90 days. So I am trying to figure out if I can go there for few weeks while my single permit application is in process or not?

As long as you've your passport with you, no problem as you're granted with a 90days visa-free per 180 days period. (don't forget you also need to proof you've a health insurance + money/credit card + proof that you're coming as a tourist + return flight ticket or flight ticket outside Schengen Area)

Hi Rajpnr,

She may start working based on her dependent visa status. After that employer need to apply for her SP which is very much possible as far as I know. Once she receives SP her visa status will also be changed from dependent to independent. In between of the process if you are asked to leave than your wife can stay if SP has been filled for her. Your wife's RP will not be de-registered with yours (you may kindly check in commune as well).

I've checked in Commune regarding this. They told me that it is possible to process an independent work permit for my wife (who currently has dependent SP). Also she may start working already with current dependent WP & can parallely process a new independent WP.

But they have asked me to confirm it with Ministry at Brussels Nord. Does anyone know how can I reach Ministry to clarify this ?

Any inputs would be of great help !

Thanks !

I am travelling to Brussles next month on a work visa. Is is possible for me to visit France on the same day i land? Without registering myself in the local commune

Aneesh

Yes. Your D visa allows you to do that.

My employer submit the work permit at the beginning of August in Flanders. So far, we haven't got any response, which should be sent within 2 weeks since submission. anda lot of people here havent got any response even though their files were submitted in July! So, i wrote a letter for the flanders officials, they said that they have backlogs and it will take 2 months just for the admission feedback. I know that it is due to summer vacation but to have such delays are very terrible!

ChrisD

My employer submitted late July and informed me all my documents are in order. Yesterday 4 weeks later and I have also not heard anything.

PUser

Unluckiest are the people who applied after late June. I saw an update few days ago in this forum that SP ( WP + RP) was received by a person who applied on 19th June.

belgium123

I have a sense that they almost didn't work at all during July and August. Otherwise, the process of just confirming files are received and in order can't take 2 months. They are not serious at all!!

AmitS01

Hello all... Just wanted to ask if my company has applied for SP in Brussels is it compulsory to register at commune within Brussels Region only or I can look to register even in Flanders??

My wife's employer informed that it's not possible to file for independent WP since she already holds dependent WP. It's the new law ! Does anyone had similar situation ?

The risk is that if I have to leave Belgium for some reason then my wife's WP become invalid. I currently work in expat contract . Any suggestions to overcome this problem ?

Hello Friends,
I am applying for change of employer.

Today my employer got an email stating I need to submit the old work permit to ministry before I can get the new work authorization.

Now I already submitted the work permit to my old employer and they haven't submitted it yet.

Is submission of old work permit required before getting a new work authorization?

I gave the soft copy of old work permit during my filing of application.

Anyone to update on this please?

Lav_Sharma

Dear Reetesh,

Congratulations that you received the single work permit. I am also looking to obtain the single work permit for Ghent, Belgium. This comes in Flanders region.

Could you please suggest
1) where did you file your application and
2) who paid the fee (employer or employee).
I am confused whether I need to fill this form (http://werk-economie-emploi.brussels/do … 768ceb8add)

or the form presented on this link ( https://www.werk.be/online-diensten/van … bineerde-6 ).

Any word of advice will be highly appreciated.

regards,
Lav Sharma

Lav_Sharma

Dear Sirs,

In the regional form from the Flanders, they ask for " rijksregister-of bisnummer ". The link is (https://www.werk.be/online-diensten/van … bineerde-6). The detail has to be mine as it is asked right on top of the employee details.

I am not sure what I need to fill as this is not the passport number or my residence card number of Portugal. It maybe is the fiscal number which is used to pay taxes here in Portugal. But the number of spaces does not match to the actual length of the Portuguese Fiscal number as well. I really do not understand what should I fill as it is the tax identification number of Belgium.

PS: Sincere thanks to all the beautiful people here in this forum.

regards,
Lav Sharma

hi i got the same response from the migration.
but they also gave me an option to send a acknowledgement letter , stating that i will  stop working for my current employer once i receive the new work permit .
I  have sent it , still waiting their reply if the letter is good and if they can move ahead.

submission of soft copy is not enough, you can ask your employer if you can provide the signed letter of acknowledgement  of ending the current employment once you receive new work permit .

vikas112dubey

adding on to my above comment.
I received a letter of admissibility today itself.
It means you do not have to give your work permit, You can simply write a letter of acknowledgement stating that you will end your employment with your current employer once you get new work permit

which region?

gobelgium

OK. I gave the resignation acknowledgment mail from my current organization. If required then I will draft a mail stating that I will end my contract once I receive the new work permit.

When did you sent your clarification? How much it took for getting a reply?

Dears,

Update for my application;

Region Brussels (Fresh Application)
Date of Application: 10th April, 2019
Date of Admissible: 29th April, 2019
WP Approval: No update
SP Approval 30th August, 2019

I've waited almost whole 4 month but finally I get it.

Good luck and thank you all for the help and information.
Be patient, stay strong =)

lohithkorp

Hello..

Is it always within 4 months after the Date of Admissible, that we get the SP? Or is it from the Date of Application?

lohithkorp

Hey! I am also in a similar situation (applied for work permit extension) but what is the difference between Admissible and the Work Authorization?

I (my employer) received a letter stating permission to work is ok but the file has been transferred to the Foreign affairs department for permit to Residence. But they mentioned this letter is not sufficient to continue working.

Your first part of your file has been approved by ministry of employment, now they have transferred to ministry of home for final approval of SP. It might take 2-3 months from now.

belgium123

Is there anyone here who applied after 15th July getting any response  (Flander region)?   Any news on admissibility or Work Authorization? Thank you for the update

Hi suvojitaown..
True. I (the employer) got the letter from ministry of employment on 20/05/2019. But I haven't heard anything further from Ministry of Home. Here I would like to know about different terms being used like Date of Admissibility and Date of Work Authorization. Can you elaborate on the difference please? My current work permit expires on 14/09/2019.

patiltush

Its from Date of application.
I received SP today on application date of 13/05, admissible on 27/05 and WP approval on 06/06.

Ah! Thanks for the update. Congratulations for your SP. :)
Now I understand the Admissible is the one I received on 20/05. But I do not know yet about the WP approval. Who would receive it? The employer or me directly?

patiltush

It would be an employer/ agency who filed it. Its kind of letter saying your file sent to Immigration office for residence approval. After that it is close to 10 weeks to get the single permit, which yourself will get email.
But the timelines do vary as its govt system. For my friend, the application date was 9 June but he got SP on 23 August itself. You can never know how govt will manage applications.

Okay Thanks! My employer got that letter dated 20/05/2019 (they shared it with me recently) saying the file is transferred for Residence approval.
I will keep waiting for my email then :)
Thanks again!

Hello,
Today I noticed the Office des étrangers for consulting the Application is offline
https://dofi.ibz.be/sites/dvzoe/FR/Page … evisa.aspx

Also the website is completely reformulated, but most of the link are broken.
They are probably working on a remodelation.
