On my work permit, it is still mentioned that the SP process would take 4 months from the admissibility date. In the Govt website, they have updated that it would take 2 - 8 weeks from the admissibility (updated in September). My admissibility is in September. But I don't know which timeline process I should expect to get SP, 8 weeks or 4 months

Did they mentioned in work permit that SP would take 4 months or this was informed to you from your employer?
My work permit does not mentions any such time line
Hopefully , it would be done in 8 weeks to 10 weeks time , now holidays seasons are over ,so now the processing is faster.

4 months is maximum duration ,
Hello guys,
How did you get this information? Did you contact WEEB or did the employer pass it on to you? My request was sent on 07/29/2019 and so far my employer has not given me any feedback. Just say you're walking ... I'm distressed. Should I email requesting information?
Hi Guys,
I'm new to the group. I have been reading this thread, it has been so helpful. So thank you to everyone.
I was hoping you could help me clarify things, they maybe a bit basic so please bear with me. It's a bit confusing -- the contradictory information when I search online.
My company is applying for the highly skilled worker direction. They are a small company, so I am trying to help them understand the process better. Region would be Flanders.
1) Translations and certifications
Most of my documents: diploma, police certificate, etc are in English. I know this is not an official language, however would I need to translate this still? When I look online the template of the medical certificate has a version in English. Would this mean, I could submit most of my documents in English too?
If the translation is needed or not, would the Belgium embassy need to certify after the translation? Or by going through the recommended translator be enough?
2) Submission of application of single work permit
Just to confirm, can we still submit this regionally? Would will all applications be funneled by the office in brussels?
3) Medical
I have been seeing in this thread, some people submitted medicals that are not the specific recommended one by the embassy. Is this possible? Or risky?
Thank you for the help in advanced.
Update on my application
Submitted 21-08-2019
Accepted No communication
WP 30-09-2019
Agency has indicated it will take 4-7 weeks for the residence part of single permit.

Hi , to my information, below are the answers
b]1) Translations and certifications[/b]
Most of my documents: diploma, police certificate, etc are in English. I know this is not an official language, however would I need to translate this still? The documents would need to be legalized before submitting to Embassy . Medical certificates are issued from authorized hospitals /doctors .
2) Submission of application of single work permit
Just to confirm, can we still submit this regionally? Would will all applications be funneled by the office in brussels?
Single application needs to be submitted which is 1st approved from REM ( Regional Employment Ministry ) and then approved from Immigration Officers which issues Single Permit ( Annex 46)
3) Medical
I have been seeing in this thread, some people submitted medicals that are not the specific recommended one by the embassy. Is this possible? Or risky?
Better to get Medical Certificate from authorized Hospitals/Doctors . The list is mentioned in the VFS website .

Is this application fresh and also had been to EU earlier.
If you had been to EU earlier or case of renew , you might get SP earlier than 2 weeks.
and if not , this process might take up to 8 weeks to 10 weeks.
My WP was approved on 7th August and would be completing 8 weeks on 2nd Oct and still waiting for SP .
Also , some one also posted that in the Work permit , it is stated that SP might take 4 months from the admissible date to check for the time line mentioned in WP.
Yes...its a fresh application... I am currently residing in Netherlands on study visa... So no idea if that would be beneficial...
Btw agency had told me 2 weeks ago that my work permit is expected this monthend... So I hope their second prediction also comes true...
AmitS01 wrote:Yes...its a fresh application... I am currently residing in Netherlands on study visa... So no idea if that would be beneficial...
Yes then you would get SP sooner.

I'm in the same situation - what would be this proof? I'd like to not have a gap between the two employers but I believe that this will be inevitable as we have to make sure we stop working from current employer before SP is fully approved. What's the suggestion regarding when to resign?
I've sent the complete mail (which contains the specific employment end date after notice period) regarding the resignation conversation with my current employer. I believe that they're asking it to put the start date in new Work Permit. As soon as we get the new Work Permit, we cannot work for the current employer anymore.
I see that their clarification is valid. They will give new SP only from the date when your current employment ends after notice period. This is my understanding !
Here's my update about Single Permit (change of employer from expat contract to Belgium Contract) ,
Date of documents submission : 14th Aug 2019
Admissibility : 20th Sep 2019
Request for clarification : 20th Sep 2019
Clarification sent : 24th Sep 2019
Work Permit Approval : 25th Sep 2019
Resident Permit Approval : Waiting
Region : Flanders
Received the updates through my employer.
Hello guys,
How do I get my case number? Just with my employer, or is there another way?
Thanks

My admissible date was earlier than you and my WP was not approved yet, also Flanders why mine is so slow, I just renew my work permit while my existing one will be expired soon, what can I do now?
Hi All,
Do u do know in which mode they will send the information if SP get approved. because my current address and passport address are different?
Will they courier the SP docs in my current address in India?
my docs are submitted on 3rd June, Got WP on 12th July but did not get SP yet?

Hard copy is no longer send
Got my WP today
Application: 23/08
Admissibility: N/A
WP: 01/10
So i guess there is no admissibility date anymore unless they need some more documents from you

Guys, what region are you applying in? Also are you fresh applications? I think saw posts here for people who applied in Flanders same your time had acquired their SPs!
I am waiting from July. Only got request for additional documents beginning of September.

If I may ask, what additional documents did they ask for?
Anybody aware about processing time for approval of family residence permit renewal? I received my renewed single permit and A card and Commune has sent the approval for residence permit renewal of my family to immigration office. It has been one month but there is no response on their file. The existing permit expired and commune issued Annexure 15 for temporary stay.
Any idea how much time family renewal approval takes? Do we need to pay the administrative contribution for the renewal as well?

Its in Brussels and fresh application. Yes seems Flanders processing is faster than Brussels. Also if renew is quicker than fresh application.
Hoping to get SP in 8 to 10 weeks time after WP processing.

But why would the alien office process Flanders faster than any region? As far as I know, if you got your WP then the file transfers from the region to the Alien Office, I assume it's something like Federal Office! Anyway, I wish you best of luck with the new update to get your SP from 2 to 8 weeks!

But, as soon as my current resident card expires, I have to stop working, in a case where Single Permit is not approved before that! Also, my employment contract should also be stopped.
Annexe 15 is not issued anymore according to the new procedure! - so, no luck there!
You won’t receive a special status/card after 5 year automatically. I applied for Permanent Residence Card Type B, after completing 5years and I’m waiting for an answer for more than 6 months.
Note: Also, I noticed that the current work permit approval document says that it is approved for 3 years!
Update from Commune:
As my Resident card is expiring next week, which could be before I receive the Single Permit or Permanent Residence Type B, I'm asked to visit the commune on or a day before the current Residence card expiry.
They would issue 'Annexe 49' which is an equivalent of, now deprecated 'Annexe 15'. This would allow me to stay in the country, but without any right to work.
Context:
WP Approved on 28th August
Region - Brussels
Commune: Woluwe Saint-Lambert
D-Day Arrived! So, went to the Commune, no updates on the Single Permit, nor for the Permanent Residence Type B that I applied 7 months ago!
My current Resident Card was taken back, as it is expiring today and I'm now given annexe 49, that allows me to stay for 45 days. But, I'm not allowed to work from tomorrow.
Being in a Management position in a company, and creating jobs locally + paying humongous, taxes, this is not an ideal state to be, for my company, nor for me!
I will check with my lawyers on what could be done now.. Shall keep you all informed!
Things that I would've done different in my situation:
- Apply for Type D permanent residence instead of B --> D has a time-limit for approval (5 months I guess) and B doesn't
- Apply for Resident Card Renewal (Single Permit) at least 6 months before expiry.
anyone got unlimited WP?

Hi, your WP was approved why you can’t work, I can’t understand. I will be the same situation as you or even worse, my WP was not approved yet, I am also applying residence B in the same commune as you, no news. Now I am worried as my residence card will be expired soon
If you have applied form flanders and the WP was approved after 17th June, then your company can apply for a temporary work permit to flanders administration(like older blue card) that is valid till your SP comes. This step is mandatory for you to work. The WP approval part of your SP is not valid enough to work.

This is only to cover the time till current Resident Card expiry! Not beyond that.

That's how it is. One document allows you to work and another doesn't, contradicting each other.
Don't expect Permanent Residence Type B to come through soon! I'm talking to my lawyers to launch a new application for Permanent Residence Type D.

More Updates:
There seems to be a whole lot of mess within departments! WP was approved by Direction Migration économique on 27th August and l’Office des Etrangers did not receive any documents or approvals from Direction Migration économique.
Here's how it is:
l’Office des Etrangers: We did not receive any documents or approvals from Direction Migration économique. Contact them and ask them to do the necessary!
Us: Dear Direction Migration économique, can you plz check what's happening?
Direction Migration économique: If they didn't receive anything, ask them to send us a mail so that we can restart the procedure
Us: Dear l’Office des Etrangers, can you send them a mail?
l’Office des Etrangers: Can't do! They have to send us things...
So, caught between two Departments on an unending cupid play!
