Submission date: 12/8
Admissibility date: 18/9
WP approval: 18/9
SP: still waiting
Fresh application

*fingers crossed to get it asap
You can expect SP by 13th November ~ 8 weeks after WP approval .
On my work permit, it is still mentioned that the SP process would take 4 months from the admissibility date. In the Govt website, they have updated that it would take 2 - 8 weeks from the admissibility (updated in September). My admissibility is in September. But I don't know which timeline process I should expect to get SP, 8 weeks or 4 months
Hello, sorry for my late updates:
Admissibility date: 18/9
WP approval: 18/9
SP: 1/10
Visa D: I apply visa D in Paris, France. take an appointment on 10/10 and got it immediately
Annex 49: within 8 days since I got visa, I need to the commune to register. And in order to register, they require housing lease contract. I got the annex immediately after register
Fresh application
Region: Flanders

D-Day Arrived! So, went to the Commune, no updates on the Single Permit, nor for the Permanent Residence Type B that I applied 7 months ago!
My current Resident Card was taken back, as it is expiring today and I'm now given annexe 49, that allows me to stay for 45 days. But, I'm not allowed to work from tomorrow.
Being in a Management position in a company, and creating jobs locally + paying humongous, taxes, this is not an ideal state to be, for my company, nor for me!
I will check with my lawyers on what could be done now.. Shall keep you all informed!
Things that I would've done different in my situation:
- Apply for Type D permanent residence instead of B --> D has a time-limit for approval (5 months I guess) and B doesn't
- Apply for Resident Card Renewal (Single Permit) at least 6 months before expiry.
More Updates:
There seems to be a whole lot of mess within departments! WP was approved by Direction Migration économique on 27th August and l’Office des Etrangers did not receive any documents or approvals from Direction Migration économique.
Here's how it is:
l’Office des Etrangers: We did not receive any documents or approvals from Direction Migration économique. Contact them and ask them to do the necessary!
Us: Dear Direction Migration économique, can you plz check what's happening?
Direction Migration économique: If they didn't receive anything, ask them to send us a mail so that we can restart the procedure
Us: Dear l’Office des Etrangers, can you send them a mail?
l’Office des Etrangers: Can't do! They have to send us things...
So, caught between two Departments on an unending cupid play!
UPDATE:
Finally, after a lot of contacts with different departments, Single Permit was approved today and I should get the Resident Card A in the next two days! No news on the Permanent Residence Type B application yet. But, I'm glad that finally there is some light.
Here is the timeline:
Application date: 2nd July 2019
Accepted on: 18th July 2019
WP Approved on: 28th August 2019
SP Approved on: 8th October 2019
Region: Brussels
My Advice:
- If you don't hear anything within four weeks after WP approval, you should get in touch with them to find out what's happening. There is a dedicated Helpdesk to handle these questions and it wouldn't hinder the process!
- Don't push employers and put them under stress, coz it could be counter productive. For a lot of them, this year, they feel that it's too much effort and uncertainty bringing someone over from outside the EU.
I hope all this is solved as the different departments mature and bring in efficient processes to fast track new applications and ensure that renewals are treated with importance!
Hi...
How to contact the helpdesk you mentioned above?
Thanks
S

My application date is 25 July, same region, and I still haven't heard anything about the SP, and I even live in Belgium. I dont think there is a trend here.
Agreed. Data analysis is of no use in this process.
It is very contextual ☺️
Hello Guyz
My timeline as follows:
Application submission: 19-21 Aug
Work permit approval: 30 sept
Single permit approval: 17 Oct
Region: Flanders, fresh application
Validity: 3 years
I am pleasantly surprised to receive SP so fast,
And i think they have surely speed up the process.
I would like to ask those who have received SP, how many files did they receive in the attachment on the mail from Single permit authorities.
Thanks a lot to this forum for help and am sure all awaited applications will be cleared soon.😊
Application submission: 16th july
Work permit approval: 10th sept
Single permit approval: 17 Oct
Region: Flanders
Validity: 3 years
i recieved 3 files as attachment . went to commune and they gave me annex 49 form( they took my old SP card and 1 photo) .
i can work with this form now
also they will send me a letter by post for my SP card appointment. ( plus biometrics)
thanks
shokaul
For those who applied from Belgium..
Did anybody have to return to their country to wait for the WP and SP, because the current residence permit expired?
What are the options in this case? Can we ask for the annex 49 (temporary) while waiting for both permits? Or is it only possible if we have at least the WP approved?
Thanks
Here's a timeline that I made based on the data shared here from June until now (15 cases). The region is mostly Flanders but there may be a few from brussels (honestly I didn't put much time in it). As you can see the work permit part obviously follows a trend and the files are processed based on the application date. But the single permit processing time is a bit random, so just be calm and wait!
Welldone to everyone that has been forthcoming with their progress updates. I've just got a final update on mine as follows
Application submission: 18th july
Work permit approval: 10th sept
Single permit approval: 17 Oct
Region: Flanders
Validity: 3 years
First time Applicant

Hi everyone,
I have a question for whom are more experienced than me.
Did you or your employer recieve any email about your papers or something untill you get your WP?
I have applied on 30th of September and should I wait any response before WP gets a decision?
Hi All,
I'm not sure very much of the visa application stage has been addressed on here. I just want to know if proof of transportation and hotel reservation were asked for at the visa application point?
Also was Apostille an issue for anyone applying from the UK?

@Puser... What did you fill in for length of stay... Do we put 3 years if we received SP for 3 years...

Not sure about other countries but if applying for long stay from India application will not accept more than 365 days. Anyway Visa is only for entry. If intension is to stay more than 3 months than you have get RP card. Once you recieve RP card visa is redundent.

Is this practice usual? I understood that first you were notified with admissibility and then with the WP. Then it kinf of changed and you were notified with both at the same time (admissibility and WP). Maybe they are changing again? I applied on Aug 28th on same region and have not received news on admissibility or WP. Not sure if I have to worry or is part of this new practice of notifying all when SP is issued.
I think flanders dont really inform you about the admissibility anymore, but only the WP if your documents are complete. In my case i just got the WP without the admissibility
My Timeline Update:
Region : Brussels
Date of application : 16 July
Date of Admissible/Work Permit Received: 3rd September
SP approval: 18th October
Now, I will go ahead and file for my Visa.
P.S.: I will not be leaving this platform because my process is complete but would like to help anyone who needs guidance/clarifications on the SP things.
Please feel free to DM me directly.
Thanks!
Hello guys
Currently I am in India and in possession of all required documents for applying visa. However, my spouse and child are still awaiting some pending documents. If I apply for visa myself alone, instead of together with family, would it result in subsequent longer visa processing time for the family members if they would apply later.
Any guidance or past experience in this matter would be really helpful to decide whether to apply alone and go ahead or wait for family members' documents.

Dependents can apply Visa later . this will effect your Visa processing time
Hello All,
What is the probability of rejecting the application by IBZ ?
It's been already 6 weeks from WP approval for me.

I'm in same situation and have same thoughts but let's be positive, as long as the dedicated period for this process didn't finish, you still may receive your SP in the last days in the last week, they stated on their website that the process at the alien office should take from 2 to 8 weeks, so we still have extra 2 weeks!!
I applied for visa in VFS Bangalore. Received Visa in 4 days. Below are documents required in 2 sets.
1. WP letters received by email from ibz
2. Online filled long stay visa form D With photo
3. Passport copy
4. Covering letter for work( I wrote it on the spot)
5. Original Passport
No need of PCC, birth certificate, medical certificate or any documents. I didn’t apostille the PCC when I sent it earlier to my employer.
