Hi, are you moving to Belgium with your family?
I wonder if that is 1 of the factors for Single Permit?
I'm not sure if that is even indicated in the SP application. My WP was approved early Nov2019 & also waiting for SP.
No in SP its not mentioned abt family.
I filed on 2nd oct. What abt u?
Mine was filed 15 Oct 2019
Flanders
I got my single permit today. Here is my timeline;
Application 29/09/2019
WP 03/12/2019
SP 20/01/2020
Region Flanders
Bear in mind that I had a request for additional documents during the work permit phase. It took 2/3 weeks to resend the application.
Thank you all for sharing your experiences!

WP approved: 2019-11-26
SP approved: 2020-01-20

Good luck to everyone!
Did anyone received single permit from Brussel region in last 10-12 days? I can see most of the SPs in this grp from Flanders only.
Is Brussels region really speeding up applications?

You need to fill your application online and then take an appointment at VFS and submit your application there. Same goes for your wife.

Yes. If you apply together you'll get it soon. Else it will take time for processing.

Not sure which documents. Such request was handled by my employer. I think that the authority had questions and not needed documents per se. Just resent my employment contract signed again.
Currently I work for a Belgian employer with WorkPermit Type-B. Earlier I was working in expat contract for a Belgian Client.
If I switch my employer now, then the new employer need to process a new WorkPermit Type - B. And I should submit the proof of resignation during the WP Process, as far as I know. Notice period is very less in Belgium. So if I switch my employer, I need to be idle for some days after my notice period since WP processing will take time.
Am I allowed to legally stay in Belgium from the moment I stop working for my current employer and wait for the work permit from my new employer ? Will it have any impact on my 5 years count for Permanent Residence ?
Thank you in advance for the help !
I read somewhere that there was a document they introduced that can let you work as u wait for your single permit due to the delay in single permits. But the region was Flanders in question. So u can look up your situation and see

Hello, please if you travel to Belgium on Single Permit and you loose your Job.
How many days are you allowed to live in Belgium after cancellation of your Single Permit?

You need to show your travel itinerary. Like the flight tickets (if you have booked them) and the hotel/apartment you are staying(this is required instead of the rental agreement). You can show the same for your wife also.
Could you please let me know what all are the documents we need to submit at RPO to get PCC.
I see in one of the site, we need to provide Sponsorship declaration form from Indian Embassy in Belgium. As i haven't moved yet to Belgium, how can we get that. Is it really mandatory?
Thanks in advance!!

Which site did you see it? Check the official govt website for details. Check the document advisor in the official website.

Is rental agreement is necessary ? I couldn't get one as I am yet to travel .
it is discussed in other threads (example: https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=655704 and https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=434496) in the forum, that initial accommodation proof is enough and mention in the cover letter that you will look for a rental once you are in Belgium.

Hi,
I have similar dates and I'm still waiting
Application: I have no idea, because my employer did it, not me
WP: 11 December 2019 my employer sent me a message that my documents had been sent to the Migration center. (in the WP I see 02 December 2019, I mean my employer sent it a bit later. If I understand right, there are 15 days after getting WP to send it to the migration center)
SP: still waiting
Region: Flanders
new application, not renewal

I used option 3 when I applied. This was recommended in the forum.

Hi Aneesh,
Thanks for the info.
I do have one more question, In Visa application form, there is a field as below,
Surname and Firstname of inviting person in the member state ?
Should I enter the name of the HR or the reporting manger person mentioned in the offer letter ?
Also, current occupation is been asked. I have resigned and completed my notice period. Can I give it as unemployed ?
Regards,
Bala.
HR would be ok.
Occupation, just mention your job title (Engineer or Architect or what suits)

It’s a fresh application.
My WP is approved on 13th Dec so I am waiting for SP now.

Sorry to trouble u. Couple more question.
1) what to enter on current employer. As I have Resigned and done with notice period, shall I enter the employer name where I will start to work in Brussels?
2) there is a field for visa details obtained in last three years. I have been in Brussels from 2015 till 2019 Jan. Previous year I had residence permit. Should I enter that or should give as no as I got my visa on 2015 which is not in last three years.
1. you can enter your old employer info there, or just leave it blank.
2. I think its better to mention it, as your stay was in the last 3 years period.
Hello,
I have a question to understand something, Please return if you have experienced similar situation recently,
if the Single permit is under processing, type : Renewal (WP approved, Immigration on going) and the current SP is expiring very soon , is it allowed to continue to work ?, taking in note that the work permit is already approved and valid from very next day of the expiry of the existing single permit.
I am employed directly with local belgian employer.
thanks,
karthick.
as long as your work permit is not expired, you can work.
If it expires, you must wait to receive a new work permit to work again (legally speaking, reality is that it depends on your boss and the risk he's willing to take...) or at least an official paper allowing to work during the renewal period.
Hello Alex,
Thank you,
I do have the work permit approved by the regional government.
Although,
the final approval (Annex 46) has to be given by Immigration to resume the work.
This is not very clear.
Once you get the annexe 46, you're fine.
There's a date on the annexe that say when you can start working.
As you've already received it, there should not be any gap between your current and next work permit
Hi,
For VisaD application, will there be any issue if we present a 2-week hotel booking? As I will be finalizing the tenancy contract for the long-term apartment only upon arriving in Belgium. Is a short-term hotel booking acceptable for VisaD application?
