Long stay in a Hotel - Negotiating a discounted rate

I am planning on staying in a hotel for my first 3 months in Dammam / Al Khobar until my family join me.

Has anyone had any success in negotiating a special rate at any of the better hotels in the area (Crown Plaza / Holiday Inn / Park Inn / etc)??

I'm just trying to understand what is possible.

Any recommendations for serviced apartments that allow 3 month stays?

How are you doing, i do know a friend. he`s manager of Tulips Inn hotel on Khobar-dammam highway.
when i need a room, he provies it to me for around 250 a day, but for 3 months, may be his company can do better,
how much are you paying per day right now

I have not done this in Saudi but have stayed in hotels for long periods... what I would suggest is speak to the reservations manager and tell them what you are after i.e duration and the price you are looking to pay... see if they can meet that. Some of the hotels I used to stay at, would charge extra for gym access or access to a lounge. so you can try and negotiate that in also...

in case you are looking for a longer stay, I would suggest taking a service apartment. that would help reduce the expense a bit.
