Salary limit for EU Blue Card

Suresh6337

Hey Everyone,

My name is Suresh and currently working in Germany holding EU Blue Card since more than two years. Recently I found a job in Belgium and I wanted to hold EU Blue Card to work. I checked the salary limits. When I contacted my employer to apply for Blue Card they mentioned I am not eligible as I will get Expat Status. They said my gross salary will be lesser than the required limit.

I have checked on internet to find the exact salary limit and I only come across about gross salary limit. I did not find information expat status gross salary.

I am wondering does the expat status affects to get a EU Blue Card in Belgium.
Please some help me with my quire.

Thank you so much in advance for the help.

Kind regards,
Suresh

Hi,

There is no limit wage whatever the job.

The European Blue Card application is under your sole responsibility. So whatever your job status, you can apply for it.

Hello,
Thank you for the information. I wonder is this information for Belgium or Germany. When I checked on Werk.be, there is a minimum wage condition. But my concern was expat status affects to get the EU Blue Card.

Of course there is a minimum wage but no maximum. Belgian system is more fair on several subjects than german one...

And once there is no relation between expat status and bluecard. Thé EU bluecard is the official acceptance of your diplomas and background for dedicated job.

The Belgian company will employ you as a seconded employee(expat status) and hence you are not eligible for Blue Card.
