Hello,
I am an ESL teacher from Iran with +6 years experience working with young learners aged 3 to 12. I will be in Malaysia in 6 months with a dependent visa. My husband is a student in UM.
I have 3 questions now, and would appreciate if anyone can help:

1. Can I find a job and work in Kuala lumpur  as an ESL teacher with dependent visa?

2. What are the requirements? Do I need a certificate (TEFL or TESOL maybe)?

3. Do I need to take an IELTS exam? If yes, what score would be acceptable?

1. If you find a job you will have to cancel your Dependent visa. The Employer will need to apply for an Employment Pass.

2. Any internationally recognised qualification such as CELTA, TESOL, plus 3 years teaching experience.

3. IELTS is not required but mother tongue speakers are usually preferred.

Thanks a lot.
should I look for a job in advanced then?
and where should I start the search from?

Gravitas

You can look for a job in advance by checking all the online job portals such as Jobstreet, Jora, Monster, Glassdoor, etc. If you are a qualified teacher then TES or Brightsparks. You would not apply for the dependent pass if you got a job offer. Your chances of finding a job are probably quite low
