Hello

I’m Tom, a 45 year old British teacher living and working in cartagena, Murcia. I’ve been living here with my Spanish wife for 4 years now and would love to get to know other expatriates. I’d be interested in doing sporting activities or just meeting for a coffee or beer!!

Hi Tom

Not in Cartagena yet but am planning to move there in the near future. I wanted to ask you though about teaching as I'm a qualified teacher from the UK and want to teach in Cartagena and/or Murcia.

Would you say there is enough work for another EFL teacher there and would you advise going autonomo or to work for an academy/private school?

I have a CertTESOL, PGCE, can speak Spanish and have experience teaching business classes, Cambridge exams prep, and general English classes. I'd prefer to teach adults now but am working in an international school at the moment so have experience of teaching all ages.

Would be interested in your thoughts.

Thanks
Helen
