buying a property to put in a trust for my daughter

jonpaul

Hi all,
hopefully someone can help me ?
Ive been on a few sites that suggest i as a uk citizen can purchase some land in the philippines and buy it and put it into a trust for my daughter who has duel citizenship who will receive and have full control over the land once she is 18 years of age ?
At the moment she is still in nappies and i would like to move there for the beginning of 2020.
Im not married to her mother and have absolutely no intentions of marrying her yet we are a couple, i just don't want to put anything in her name as this investment is for my daughter to inherit.
i read that i can be the sole trustee for this agreement once written ?
can anyone elaborate ???

thx in advance if anyone bothers to reply without the same old only condos etc routine.

Perhaps you should consult a lawyer.

Definately get legal advice.  As a foreigner, you cannot buy land.  With your daughter being still a baby, i would doubt strongly that a purchase could be put in her name.  Your own legal rights in the Philippines are very limited.
