Unabridged Birth Certificate for Northern Rhodesia

Hi There,

I am looking to move my parents to the USA but they wont recognize my dads birth certificate and are asking for an unabridged certificate. He was born in Zambia in 1953 so how should one go about this process to obtain the certificate for Northern Rhodesia?
