I am 23 year old dual citizen currently living in the USA but want to move back to England for a few reasons. Only my immediate family lives in America so I would like to get to know my whole family better. Work experience would be nice as well. I have a bachelor degree and have work experience at a Fortune 500 company. If want to move there for a couple of years and come back how easy would it be? Since I’m a U.K. citizen could I just move back pretty easily? I don’t have a job lined up and would probably wait until I get there. I would be living with family. Thanks for the help!

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

If you have a UK passport, you can travel to the UK and live and work where you please.

Do you have any family at all in the UK that can help you settle in?  Although we share a language, the culture here is very different, so having a place to call home would be very beneficial (and your mum and dad will worry less).

You appear to be educated and have some relevant work experience; I'm also a dual citizen (albeit a lot further down the road than you are) and also a retired ex-employee of a Nasdaq quoted US multi, perhaps you may find it easier finding a job with a US company that has a European operation, then transferring internally, we had a lot of guys UK based that came from our Chicago operation and vice-versa.  If not you need to work on your CV so that US jargon is translated into its British equivalent and people understand it.  If your skillset is regulated, then you need to ensure that your qualifications are recognised outside the US, or what you need to do to achieve this.

If you have any further specific questions, please come back to us.

Hope this helps.
