SPass Renewal

Post new topic

Rmaxx

My spass is currently being renewed as it will expire by January 2020. It has been submitted for renewal since July 15 and still on pending status as of today.
I am also on my 8th month of pregnancy and I will be flying back to my home country by August 01.
My question is what happens if by Aug 1, my renewal is still not approved yet? I will be on maternity leave until March by then my current pass would have expired already.
Anyone had similar experience?

I’m not sure what kind of maternity leave which allows someone to take leave from 01 Aug to March (7-8 months). Am I reading it correctly?

It could be a special case where MoM is renewing a work pass 8 months prior to its expiry.

Now, coming back to your query, if it’s not approved at the time of your journey then you can bring the submission letter and show to the officer at the time of exit (if your passport doesn’t have automatic access to clear the checkpoint).

At the time of your arrival in March, you must have results in your hand that means either successfully renewed or rejection. Pass renewal won’t be pending for 7 to 8 months. Good luck

My spass is valid until Jan 2020 so now it is only within 6 months before the expiry date. Hence, our HR was only able to submit the renewal this July. Also, my maternity leave from Aug-Mar includes some of my unused annual leaves and time offs that I need to use before the year ends.
Just wondering what will be the consequences if in the middle of issuance, I will have to fly off already.

No consequences, as during your maternity leave you are not entitled to work so whether you stay here or visit your parents place has no impact on renewal process. As I said that before your return to SG, the result of the application must have known already.
