Another power cut announced for today (02.12.2020) between 0800 and 1500 didn't go ahead as planned. Manager of apartment building notified us about it on 28.11.2020.

Soon after 0800 I went on the evn website and checked power cuts scheduled for today. Two entries came up. Neither of them was for our street.

Well OB what you can do to get your location is read it off the EVN bill you get every month and match it with the areas that are scheduled to be cutoff, or a better way is to get your customer ID# off the bill and put it in the box on the right side of the web page that's marked:

Khách hàng có thể tra cứu chính xác thông tin lịch ngừng cung cấp điện bằng cách nhập Mã khách hàng vào ô này:

I've asked managed for our EVN customer code so that any further announcements can be checked on the evn website on the night before and on the morning of the scheduled power cut.

He's sent me customer code. Enteed it on evn website. But an error comes up.
....

Put in our customer code and this time it's telling me that we have a scheduled power cut next week. So, again, link seems to be working. No idea if the power cut will actually go ahead though. Guess I'll check the night before and on the morning of the power cut to see if it's still showing.
......
No idea how long the entries hang around during/after the event, if they do still appear while the power cut is happening, you could visit website on the day, then put that day for 'From' and 'to' then from the entries that come up figure out your address from the 'Phạm vi mất điện' (power failure range) field. Copy your streetname as it appears on there, then whenever you do a search for specific dates look for the text that you copied.

Update: Power cut did go ahead. Although, power returned 1.5 hours later than scheduled time.

Appears that this method may be a no go sometimes. Why?..because the evn website will sometimes list a whole area for the region affected. For example, today the website is saying 'Một phần phường Phú Mỹ.' Which I think means 'a part of the Phú Mỹ ward'.

If you have the customer code, it's more definiative.

long power cut yesterday. Received message from Manager of apartment on Tuesday 02 March around 2 pm relaying message from evn.

Checked my zalo EVN messages and guess what? message by EVN posted on Tuesday 02 March at 07:04 am. That's just over 24 hours notice for a major power cut. How rubbish is that?

Here's the zalo message from EVN:

Thời gian dự kiến: từ 08:00 ngày 03/03/2021 đến 15:00 ngày 03/03/2021
Lý do: Bảo trì và sửa chữa lưới điện .

Reason for power cut (Lý do) above translated by google: Grid maintenance and repair.

Reasons for power cut according to evn website:

google translation:

Cut off electricity for green tree clearing in rainy season according to Document No. 05 / TTr-UPC dated 22/02/2021 of Vung Tau Urban and Green Park Development Joint Stock Company. Cleaning and maintenance of underground cable terminals, FCO, LA, Thanh Binh Villas branch. I set the alarm for 06:30 am to drink coffee and prepare breakfast before power-cut. Turned out I didn't need to set alarm. Around 5:45am-6:00am next door neighbour started drilling with something akin to a hammer drill. Thanks next door. You are a good neighbour. I wonder how many pps will go away thinking I was really thanking my next door neighbour for using hammer drill at 5:45 am. Sarcasm lost on some?

Anyway, in Vietnamese there is a word for inconvenient (bất tiện) and convenient (tiện lợi). Doubt anyone knows the meaning though.
