Interim receipt (blue paper) issues

Hi all, I'm having some struggles regarding my blue paper (interim receipt) of my work permit. I applied for my work permit on 22nd May 2019 and I am still waiting for confirmation. They are still confirming my MQRIC application and its stuck there. However I have read on the blue paper now that it says this:
'You are authorised to reside in Malta until a decision is taken on your application. This interim application shall lapse on 22/08/2019'

I am so worried that they are going to kick me out of the country even though I have been patiently waiting. I have tried to get through to them by phone and no one is answering, they keep cutting the phone.

If someone has been through the same thing and has some advice it would be so greatly appreciated!! Thank you
