Sending money to U.S.

Post new topic

vjohnsonbarrett

My husband is working in Mauritius, sending money for household expenses to me in the U.S. We have found that Western Union is fast but very expensive, and a wire transfer from his bank account to mine (different banks) can take up to 2 weeks, which just seems crazy.

Does anyone have experience with sending money to the U.S. from Mauritius on a regular basis that is fast and affordable?

OR! Are there any United States banks with branches in Mauritius?
Thanks,
Vicki

HSBC is probably your best bet.  When I send money, it usually takes 2-3 days max when I send USD from Mauritius to the US even when sending to a different bank in the US.
