Got a job offer - what now?

Hi All,

is anyone here familiar with a school named CTS? http://www.cts.edu.bd/content/about-us/overview

Apart from tragic news, the biggest bank heist in history put Dhaka on the map. Now I've watched some videos and notice how friendly & positive[i] people appear to be.

A few years ago, I visited Mumbai. But I'm not sure what to expect.
...

Questions:

* is the postal service reliable? Would you send in your stuff by parcel (from SE Asia and Europe)?

* Is there a way to minimize the risk of some scam? (Getting the contract notarized, ...)?

* Dry cleaners - or should I change my wardrobe to manage without one?

* Can I withdraw cash inside banks, showing my passport and the credit card?

* any advice regarding which TELCO to use for internet @ the apartment and for the mobile phone?

Thanks for reading, hope to hear from someone.

Chris

Hello there
The school you mentioned is not really that popular or well known to be honest. So double check your offer from them.

1. Regarding Postal Service
Govt Postal Service is not too reliable. I would suggest DHL/FEDEX/ARAMEX/ETC
2. Scams.... would be able to answer better if you could mention scam regarding what.
Best way is to get a lawyer validate it on Stamp Paper( In this region Stamp Papers are legal papers for legally binding contracts)
3. Dry Cleaners plenty of them available and in reasonable range
4. I know we can withdraw Cash from Most ATMS using debit cards(charges applicable and the exchange rate is usually shitty)
5. Internet for Apartment I would suggest Link3 or Smile as for phone I prefer Grameenphone, a little expensive compared to other Telecoms but their service and network reception is excellent
