Hello,

We have the opportunity to move to Da Nang to work.

We have a lovely dog which we will be willing to bring with us, but after reading some posts in the forum we are afraid of being stolen.

Could someone tell us their experience with having dogs at Da Nang? Is still that dangerous regarding the pets stolen?

By the way, should we consider to live in a private housing state with security in the entrance? or there is not that possibility at Da Nang? Where is the best area to live? where does the expats live in Da Nang? Close to the big hotels like Hyatt and others?

Thank you so much for your support.

Regards,

"Monchos"

Just curious what type of housing are you planning to live in? If it's a condo, then your dog would be in the condo unless you're walking your do so I don't think anyone will break into the condo to steal your dog. If you are planning to live in a house with fencing and let your dog run around inside the fencing, there are some risk with people jumping the fence if you're not watching your dog. If you plan to live in a house with no fencing and your dog running around on the street on its own, then an opportunist thief will kidnap your dog for ransom.

Which forum specifically?...Da Nang?

Because, I remember reading that this happens in parts of Can Tho (outside the city - in rural parts).

Yes, you are wise to ask for experience of others. Dog meat is a Vietnamese delicacy.
