Permanent Residence in Ecuador

Coxhere

I'm married to an Ecuadorian.  Does being married to an Ecuadorian make it easier to live permanently in Ecuador?

You can disclose much less money on a Visa de Amparo compared to other visas. I disclosed only the minimum, which I put in a separate account more than a year before I applied. Plus, this account is kept in the USA.

through marriage you can become resident or citizen (if your home country allows). Should just be a formality.

I don't remember any declarations of savings as mentioned above though. But I went the citizen route which may effect that (or maybe I just don't remember)

My husband has a permanent residency card in the U.S. and will be eligible for citizenship in less than one more year.  He will become a "dual citizen."  I'm wanting the exact opposite.

We have an attorney who facilitated us being able to get Tony his residence card.  And I guess we should go back through his office and see if he can do anything for us as far as my becoming a permanent resident of Ecuador with eyesight on becoming an Ecuador-U. S., dual citizen as well.

Tony and I have been married three years on April 12, 2020.

Could you give more specific information as to how to proceeded with your process of acquiring Ecuadorian citizenship.  Do I assume correctly that you are also a U. S. citizen?

Thanks. . . .

Oh, and we've registered our marriage through the Registro Civil in downtown Quito a few weeks ago.  Doesn't seem like this'll be of any benefit though as far as what I'm wanting to do in getting a permanent residence visa and a cédula after living in Ecuador for, I think it is, one year.

The question is, does Ecuador recognize same sex marriages?
