Maid house keeper

Post new topic

Hello

We are looking at getting a live in maid here in Papua Indonesia. What is the best way of doing this.

Thanks
Gavin

I usually just ask around, maybe your Pak RT or security. If you get someone who is known locally there are likely to be fewer problems - more gossip, but fewer problems.

Also, for the OP, make sure the maid has a police report (SKCK) showing no criminal record and make a colour photocopy of their ID card (KTP) and family card (KK).
The NIC on the KTP should match the KK.

Hello ,

Myself and my wife are looking at getting a maid to live with us in remote Papua Indonesia . My wife is due to have a baby in April.
We are from australia and have been living here for 3 1/2 years.
You will have your own room next to our house/unit with privacy.
It is a 6 day a week job with help in cooking, cleaning and sometimes helping with the new baby.
Pay is negotiated but you will be well looked after.
We are both easy going people and just expect you to helpful and trustworthy.

Thanks
Gavin

This is why the above is a good idea. It won't stop someone that bad, but at least you can catch them.

Police in West Jakarta are trying to locate a domestic worker who was filmed abusing her employer’s small child, the video of which recently went viral.

In the video, which has been circulating widely today, the unidentified domestic worker is seen aggressively trying to paste a piece of sticky paper to the face of a young boy — who does not appear to be any older than five — whose legs and hands were tied with ropes. The boy was crying throughout the short video.

You can advertise free of charge for a maid here

Try to get a maid who lives very nearby and it is worth checking with your local Chairman to see if he/she has any recommendations. Some people prefer maids who come from the countryside as they feel they are less tricky and more reliant on their employers. The problem with this is that they can disappear quickly if they are not happy, and they might be tempted to steal which actually can happen with any maid.

Also, don't choose one that is too young as that may cause problems.

Also, as Fred says, it it much better to advertise in the appropriate section at the top of the page since this thread will soon be lost in all the other threads and gradually move to the next page and so on.

Well i think she just psycho. I mean the woman in the video. 🤨. How devil she is.

Probably the maid was unhappy about something her employer said or did. Unfortunately maids whether Indonesia, Filipino or from wherever occasionally take it out on the kids. Still I agree with Mya that this one seems pretty nasty or jahat and deserves to be punished.

You won't get much argument there.
Good news - She's been arrested

Hello Jason,

Thank you for your prompt response.

This thread is quite old and members have been inactive for quite long now.

I would suggest that you create an advert and publish a job offer in the Jobs in Jakarta section, detailing your needs so that qualified members may send you their applications.

All the very best
