Dear all,

Risk and compliance specialist from Europe, first EP application in Singapore, 3 years experience, 2 masters degrees, LTVP holder

I'm in very difficult situation as after 5 months of exhausting recruitment process I was about to start work next week for well known MNC in Singapore. Surprisingly my EP was rejected even tho at SAT assessment I was eligible for EP within stated salary. What's more surprising, the company called me to inform that they don't know the reason for rejection and they will not appeal as it won't change the situation...

I'm still trying to ask them to call MOM and provide me the reason as it will determine my further stay in Singapore. Did anyone experience similar situation where company was not interested to appeal?

Sorry to hear about your case. But, an employer to hire a foreigner, they have to provide valid reason to MoM and also to proof them that they tried locally but unable to get the skills which required for the job. If they failed to do so then chances are higher that MoM may reject.

No point employer to appeal if they are not able to provide the valid reason for appealing that means they have to appeal with the strong rationale (additional information) which MoM will consider. Good luck

Hi Onestar

Sorry to about your situation.

I am in a similar situation as I am currently on a LTVP and am still waiting on my EP status.

When was the ep application submitted and when did you get the response back from MOM?

Onestar

First application was issued at the end on January but more documents were required by MOM - updated on 4th February and rejected on 14th February.

Unfortunately my friend also got rejected and it seems if you do not have extensive experience or particular skills which are not easy to find on local market then EP won't be approved :/ doesn't matter if it's big well known MNC or small company...

Raguraj

Did you get a Pre Letter of Consent from MOM when you applied for your LTVP?

Onestar

No, as my LTVP is connected to EP of my spouse. LoC for LTVP is only applicable if the spouse is Singaporean citizen.

Nevertheless company that was supposed to hire me would do that only on EP as they don't take a risk of LoC and being dependent from the spouse EP.
