Hello everyone. Im from poland, and i have idea about working in philippines. I want do photo and video on wedding or birthdays. I have one guy from philippines with who i want cooperate. We will open company for his name, but i will work time to time, when he will need help.

I should inform BIR about it? I dont want working illegal, but i know it will not my salary for living there. I have my own money.

What i should do ? I need visa 9G?

thank you fro answer :)

I have never done this, but I have looked into it in the past.

So take this advice as just a pointer in the possible direction you want to go.

You definitely want  BIR to know what you are doing, but you may qualify for tax exemption under the Barangay Micro Business Enterprise Law . I emphasize MAY qualify.

One of the requirements: "only enterprises with at most P3 million in total asset value are eligible to apply and need to get a BMBE Certificate of Authority."

This article explains the process:

https://www.rappler.com/business/infogr … -exemption

If you are approved: "Present your BMBE Certificate of Authority to the BIR Revenue District Office for your tax exemption registration."

I don't know if this helps or can be applied to you, but maybe it can.

About the visa. There are people here more qualified than myself to speak to this topic, but I believe that the 9g is a pre-arranged employment visa, where you will be working for a Philippines company.

http://immigration.gov.ph/visa-requirem … yment-visa

Not sure that applies to you.

I think you may want to look at the 9a, which is a tourist/business visa.

I see you are from Poland and Poland is on the list of nationalities that may enter Philippines for up to thirty days visa free:

https://immigration.gov.ph/faqs/travel-req

You may be able to extend your visa beyond the thirty days:

http://immigration.gov.ph/visa-requirem … isa-waiver

I strongly suggest that you head over to Immigration and confirm all of this.

good luck

In addition to the above, be careful. People do get ripped off. Make certain it does not happen to you.

Hi Buli889,
Freelancing "photo and video : wedding /birthdays" looks fine :
Best to actually be HERE & once you are confident enough to go 'full steam ahead' with your plans together with yr local partner, you can then look into the official process.
Like the advice given before don't get ripped off even before you set yr foot here!...we've seen/heard off too many sad cases.

Thanks & Best of Luck

Hi, it's best to settle first with ur Filipino partner the form of business you will be establishing. Is it sole proprietor which only for Filipinos, or a corporation which will be u are one of the incorporator. In corporation u can have the 9g visa. But, Establishing corporation here is quite tedious and costly.
I would suggest you get to know first ur Filipino partner before establishing any business here

I'm here on a balikbayan stamp and get where you're coming from. I see all kinds of opportunity for business, but I stay away from it.

Here's the thing, if you offend most Filipinos they usually won't say anything about it. If they know your involved in business they just might report you to immigration though. Make sure your visa allows you to do business if that's what you want to do.

The 9a can be used for business purposes according to the BoI website:

http://www.immigration.gov.ph/faqs/visa … tor-s-visa

But it is temporary. You would need to clarify with Immigration exactly what you would be allowed to do/would not be allowed to do and for how long and what extensions may be granted.

The 9g that has been mentioned may also be an option, but you would also need to discuss this with Immigration.

So if you are sure about your business partner make a trip to the Philippines to check out the environment. Talk with Immigration while you are here to determine your options.

And be careful about handing over money. trust but verify.

This site gives you some idea of the requirements for starting a business and how complicated it is:

https://www.profitableventure.com/start … foreigner/

It would be your Filipino partner who would be setting most of that up.

As a 13a holder I am exempt from needing an Alien Employment permit. If you come in on a 9g, then you will need an AEP.

Looks very complicated and risky.

I'm really sorry to rain on your plans but you are taking coal to Newcastle .
I have never seen a country with so many really good cameras owned by ordinary people with very good skills . There will be a lot of competition from friends or relatives of prospective clients .
If you can speak the Tagalog well you may have half a sniff .
You are a foreigner and I doubt you will get a work visa to take a Filipino's job .
You will be surprised at how little you are expected to charge .
I won't even go into the stepping on the toes of local businesses .
Just from observation over the years , if you can't support yourself from your own savings or investments , just visit , don't plan on living there .

I found something like this

A foreigner can have up to 40% ownership in a corporation – minimum capital to start a corporation is only Pesos 5,000 (approximately USD $1,000).

You might try the barangay micro enterprise option first like I posted above:

https://www.rappler.com/business/infogr … -exemption

The two of you might be eligible for tax exemption.

Your partner should be the one spearheading that.

And don't forget to talk to BoI about what visa you need and AEP before you undertake that business.

I don't know what your situation is and if your partner has a lot of prospects, but like other have said it is a tough environment.
