Hepatitis B infection

Hi Abandoned by Dubai,

It touched my heart to listen to your story. I feel sorry to hear what has happened to you. I have to say that one more time I am convinced that this country will not make me feel at home and will not convince me to invest my money to. Behind the impressive fasad and skylines, there is a very backward thinking and culture. They think that they can avoid problems and diseases in the world by closing their doors and push back the problems to people in the other countries. How can they regard themselves as Men? The way they have been treating people is disgraceful. They probably have realized that if they continued doing this, the recession in this country would never recover. The country will stop working without all the expats and foreign workers. The hundreds of half-finished real estate projects will never be completed and will only turn into ghost cities. For the sake of country and for the sake of the beautiful Dubai and Abu Dhabi, I wish that I will see more of humanity and tolerance in their policy. I do wish prosperousness and greatness to this country.

Abandoned By Dubai wrote:

I lived in Dubai for over 7 years. Around January 2010, my wife & I both lost our jobs co-incidentally, on account of our companies downsizing due to recession. I had to travel in & out of Dubai on visit for a few months, until July 2010 which is when I found a new job that would help us get back on track. My wife unfortunately could not find a decent one for herself, and she came to the point of almost giving up on even looking for one; so depressing our circumstances had become. We had to 'buy out' her residence visa from a friend so she could stay back and take care of our pet dog. But the worst was yet to follow.

When I applied for my residence visa on the new job. I was found to be infected with Hepatitis B and declared medically unfit. Before I could have a chance to even understand what the disease was all about, I was asked to pack my bags and leave the country within 7 days, since I was now 'banned' to live & work in the country; I later learned that one cannot even visit the country once banned. I begged & pleaded the authorities to hear out my story; that I had lived & worked in Dubai for over 7 years, owned property in Dubai, had bank accounts, a house rented for a further 8 months, a loan-free car, miscellaneous possessions, family, friends, my entire life was in Dubai - HOW ARE THEY EXPECTING ME TO JUST PACK & LEAVE?? But all to deaf ears.

Within 7 days I had to sell off my car, furniture, etc, clear out credit card debts & my personal funds, lose my pre-paid rent amount, and report to Al Aweer police station for my 'clearance'. I was escorted to the airport in a police car until I cleared passport control, and I flew back to India. My wife could not stay in Dubai by herself for obvious reasons, plus we knew that she was the only one to take care of me in my ill condition; so she accompanied me on the same flight and we had to leave our pet in the care of a dear friend.

In my heart, I have developed this feeling of despise for the UAE government & system that does not care for anyone or anything, and makes up laws overnight that can alter peoples lives very adversely, for absolutely no fault of their own. Most importantly, this has now become a question of loss of confidence with the UAE; as I got to know only recently that prior to mid 2008 they didn't have the ban, then starting Aug 2008 they carried it for 2 years and after I got deported, they have lifted it back. Some well wishers suggest that I should try and go back to Dubai now that the ban is lifted. My question is - what if I come back now as a carrier of HepB, start paying rent, take up a job, buy a car, etc., etc., and they re-introduce the ban after 2-3-4 years and abruptly ask me to leave....again. What then? I don't think I ever want to live in a country that treats people like that. My wife & I, are both disgusted with the way we were treated & don't want to go back to a place that threw us out the way it did.

My visa is from dubai. But my PRO claimed that the letter submitted to Dubai immigration was send to legal counsel in Aub Dhabi and the ban was getting removed within a few days. Approx 3 days later he confirmed it was removed.

Since we are the first lot of persons it has taken a while for us.

I think from now on the procedure should be quite easy and should not take the time that has taken people in my batch. IT has taken over a month to get everything done.

Even Abu Dhabi should be similar but if PRO goes then it carries better weight as compared to friends.

Vincyd

hi all,
i would like to inform you that i got the fitness certificate of my wife from the health authority abu dhabi. the people working in the health authority are really co-operative and they actually help you with ur problems.

thanks everybody for your support this blog has given  me the support to actually solve my problem.
i just have one question, the validity of the visa is only for 2 months that means within 2 months you have to do the medical and get the visa stamped on the passport. but in my case my wife did her medical before the end of 2 months but we got the certificate after the end of 2 mmonths, is there any problem if i go now to get the visa stamped from the immigration?

waiting  for your reply friends....
thanks.

Dear All:

I got the certificate for my wife at medical fitness center in knowledge village last week.
wish God bless you all.

Hi,
I am living in India and am in the same boat with all of you.Can some one please tell me the procedure to remove myself from the "BLACKLIST".Please note that i am living in India and i will have to do this from India itself,if you can send me the phone numbers and e-mail id for health authorities in UAE i will be very greatful to you all.
Also, congrats to all friends who got themself cleared from the "BLACLIST" and to all brothers and sisters who are still on this "BLACKLIST" like me-don't loose heart,be positive and remember there is life outside UAE aswell.
Warm regards,
Rambo

Are there any agents or PRO's who can liase with the authorities for a fee and get the names removed from the 'blacklist'. This could solve the issue of many who are in their home countries.

This would be really useful for all of us...

If your job is an engineer / manager, you shall have your medical check up in the Central Hospital (SEHA). I did not have my tesing there, I did not what they would check for visa renewal. If you'd like to change your job, better to ask some chief doctor there in SEHA to clarify it.

Hi Ritz,

Since for a long time i'm following your post to guide me from the following procedures of what you did.  Same like you I've submitted the letter from DHA to immigration together with the rejected application form for my husbands visa last Oct 26. They told me the same thing to call me for any progress.  But when I read the testimony of annefrank and cincyd that they remove their ban It gave me lots of hope.  From your post that you are going to visit the immigration personally to check the status of your wife what did they told you?

Please update so that when I come back to UAE on Nov 30 I will do the same thing.

Thanks & regards,
Shahed.

Today I got my renewed visa. The date of renewal was 30 october 2010.

i am also on the same boat with you guys, my Hepa Profile was acute chronic inactive which i could say same to case of Midge, i was here in Dubai more tha 4 years move from one company to another, but recently i moved to abu dhabi for the new job, i took the medical last 26 of july and sad to say may hepa b was detected, the pinay technician took again a blood test and is due to monday for the result, now as per her, no one can get a visa once you have a hepa b, but some exemptions are being made, one it depends who your sponsor is, two if you company knows somebody in the immigration department which ash the power to give you permits.

i am nervous at this time, i have informed my new boss and he said they will do the best they can. i cant tell much for it all depends on sunday for the verdict but i d

one of my prayers is that the goverment review its policy and give some exemptions to those who are capbale og doing the job and not infecting others, we came here to work not to be stupid, we are still human beings not animals.

lets all pray for each other and will see what happens, i just want to give this hope assurance to everybody, he is not sleeping he knows whats happening and i do believe in miracles.

ive been to the uae last october 2009 with residence visa under my husbands sponsorship, but iwas rejected when i tested positive for hepatits b in SEHA. so i had to go home december 2009 before the 60 days of stay expires..but i was able to go back under visit visa last may 2010 until august 2010. my husbands PRO was good thats why i wasnt banned in the UAE.but i think to clear me from the medical examination is a tough job. thats why i wasnt able to work there. but i would really like to so I could stay with my husband

Folks,

*THIS IS IMPORTANT*

Can someone please answer my question.  After reading all whats been happening and the changes that have come into place please can someone clarify a question for me.

I am in the UK currently and in the process of applying for a good professional job within Dubai.  I have never worked in Dubai before although have had a short visit.  Unfortunately I have Hep B chronic :(

PLEASE can someone clarify, the role does not fall into the 6 categories, therefore, in order to get my work visa/residency - in the medical test will there be any issues?

I am under the impression that things are still not 100% clear.  For new comers like me, does the rule apply?  Or is it only for those that are currently within employment?

PLEASE can someone kindly offer factual information for my case.  I would not want to leave my family, job and everything else in the UK only to be disappointed, banned and deported out of Dubai.

Its really bugging me, so if anybody can clarify I would be grateful.

Thanks in anticipation.

Regards,
UK PM 81

hi, UK PM 81:
no need to worry about medical test for your case at all, I just got the certificate and residence visa for my wife, she is carrier too.

take it easy.

Jack,

Thanks, that is certainly re-assuring!

But as your wifey is not working would it not be easier for her to get it?  Maybe I am just being a bit para.

Hi everybody,

I have been reading comments on this forum for quite sometimes and it is unfortunate that there is no clear information regarding hep. B carriers who are first time comers in Dubai.

As for me, I do have Hep.b but did not really know about the UAE restrictions and medical test before getting in Dubai. I started working last week and have been informed that I will have to go through the medical test within the next two week.

I have to say that it is unbearable not knowing whether I am going to be banned and deported or not. I am clueless and have no indication on what is truly happening since the recent law was published. I got a European passport and my job is not amongst the 6 categories.

If anybody has had the same experience please be kind and let us know.

I will post updated information regading my case so that it will benefit others, inchallah.

Please remember me in your prayers

Jack, is your wife employed or housewife?

Hi Guys,

Its me back.

My ban was removed and new visa issued.

I was in DUbai last week and did my medical at Jebel Ali on Monday. Got the visa fixed on my passport on Wednesday and received the visa for my family on Thursday. BAck in HKG on Friday.

They have stopped doing the Hep B tests and that is the only reason i could get my visa.

Also was told by my PRO that mine is not an isolated case.

Trust this sorts out of any confusion.

In august i had to go to Muhaisnah clinic after JEbel Ali and was subsequently banned.

rgds,
Vincyd

Congratulate passed persons.

I'm unfortunate. I still can't get a certification for SEHA. The reason is that my name is in the ban list. I have gone to ROOM27 of SEHA, the guy told me the new law just suit sponsor. I'm confused.

Who can tell me the detail procedure? What's the receiver's address of a application letter? Could you send a templete to me?

Thank you!
