Hi all!
Great forum here, I've been doing my digging and there seems to be a few good people with their heads screwed on right whom know their stuff. I am happy to have joined.
I'm a recent grad, just accepted a great opportunity in management for an entertainment organization in Dubai. I've been after a job here for nearly 2 yrs. I'm on target for a relocation in early March, and the plan is to bring my girlfriend along. We of course, will get married before we go to keep things on the legal side. The concern though reflects that of this thread.
She is a hep B carrier, she received it genetically from her father. At present she's being treated, and also conducting a blood test to check the status of it at this point in time. I have found loads of information in regard to the 6 categories of employees whom are screen for it. However, she is not planning to work (mostly focusing on finishing her degree while with me). Does anyone know or know where we can find the exact criteria on Hep B requirements for family/spouse visa?
Likewise, if she were interested in working in the future while we live in Dubai (external to the 6 categories), would this prevent her from doing so? (At that, can sponsored spouses acquire work while living in the UAE provided all required documents are supplied).
Cheers!
Mike
Dear All,
I use to work in a bank in Dubai back in 2007. I knew i had Hepa B before i left my country. But i was hopeful, i consulted a doctor in Dubai and he said "Dont worry just go for the exam, everything will be fine". I went for an exam and i turned out to be the happiest guy ever because i was granted a visa even though i had Hepa B active.
In 2009 i was offered a better post in another bank, so i resigned and exited from Dubai, I was sent a "Dubai Healthcare Visa" to return back to Dubai because I resigned from my Job before 3 years contracted ended, so i knew it that i cannot work in a private sector for 3 years (There is a 3 ban), thats why i requested a govt visa. After around 1 month i was asked to go for a medical. I was asked to do my medical in a govt hospital (on Al-riqqa road Deira), i gave my blood sample returned home hopeful. After 2 days i was contacted by my HR and asked to go to another hospital for medical (This was located on Jumeirah road). I asked the lady who got my blood, she says dont worry all is fine. After 2 days my manager asked me to contact HR and i then i was informed that i cannot stay in the country and i have 30 days to exit. That was sad, real sad for me!
I did exit the country, now i work in a different country and i am promoted as Business Development Manager for a consultancy firm and transferred to Dubai again.. Now i am really worried and have few questions, if someone can please answer them for me, i will be grateful.
1) Can i return back to Dubai, if i was deported in 2009 for HepaB, since i heard about the 6 categories and i dont fall in any?
2) Is Abu Dhabi strict in terms of medical compared to Dubai?
I really want to avail this opportunity to be a BDM in Dubai, and i know my company really needs me there, Do you think my company can do something about this?
I appreciate any answers and help from you guys, and i hope and pray that everyone in this situation gets out of it ASAP.
Thank you all.
Saj
Hi Kamil,
I have the same situation. I was also asked to leave back in 2009 because of Hepa B. My passport just has a cancellation stamp because visa was never stamped on it. But i do have dubai resident visa before, its just that i changed my job and this time i got declined.
Is their still any possibility to check in immigration if i was permanently banned or it was just stamped as a visa cancellation? Can your relative help me out check my status.
I'm promoted and asked by company to join Dubai office. Im worried about what will happen if they sent me back. My company here in this country will also find out about my situation. Please help me out!
Gob Bless you.
Regards,
Sajjad
Hi Hassan,
I am suppose to be in Abu Dhabi may be in a months time. Are you really sure there wont be any issues with medical. I am pretty sure that i dont belong to six categories because i work for a consultancy firm (We do trainings) and i am asked to join the UAE office.
To give you a little background on my situation. I use to work for a bank in Dubai back in 2007. I was granted visa even though i had Hepa B. The problem hit me when i resigned and tried to join another bank. I was sent a Dubai Healthcare Visa, which turned out to be a nightmare after i took the medical exam. So i was asked to leave the country. There is no visa stamped on my passport, it just has that cancellation sticker only.
Would i face any ban or any other problems (My medical etc.) getting visa, since my company has already decided to send me to Abu Dhabi office? They are about to process my visa now.
Jill,
Thank you very much for sharing this email. This relieved me a lot and i hope it will help all the readers of this blog who are interested to know whether Abu Dhabi govt does Hepa B check or no.
Thanks alot. God Bless You!

Saj

Hi Saj
This new rule has effected from the end of 2010 itself , you wont have any problem across UAE because of hepatitis B unless you are not in the 6 categories . when you had been sent back whether they did your eye scan , fingerprints & photo. If they so you had been deported , many cases like this including me i am also an deported expat , even we are trying to find a solution for removing this entry ban from their system. Check from your side whether you had a ban or not , if you dont have a ban then you can enter with 100% trust that you will get residency visa. All the Best.

Hi bbbubble, as long as you are not going to work in the stipulated 6 categories, you will not be tested for HBV. I have changed my visa 3 times so far and God's grace i haven't faced any problem so far. Believe in God and go ahead.
Good luck

I am new to this board but i am sailing in the same boat...i am also a hepatitis B carrier.Recently i have been offered a project manager job in Dubai by a construction company. Can any of you ladies and gents on this forum tell me whether i will get a work permit / residence visa for Dubai?I am married with two grown up kids and my family is free of hepatitis B.Only myself & my mother has it and even she is 73years old.As per my doctor i am born with it and hence i am not prescribed any medicine.
I will appreciate an honest view about my situation.

Hi Sajjad,
If your retina was scanned at the time of deport you will not be able to enter the country. Immigration issues visa based on your passport. Once you are here, they will check your eyes and found having ban, they will not check what is the reason behind and will send you back on the next available flight.
Hi Mike,
in both the cases if she is not going to work in the stipulated 6 categories, she will not be tested for HBV. I am a live example of changing visa 3 times during the last two years. Don't worry, believe in God and go ahead!!
Hi serghinio,
visit the popular local news paper web sites, gulfnews and khaleej times for opportunities related to your field. Also, you can try just engineer web to find a suitable job around the world.
Good luck!!
Hi!! Did you make it here in UAE??

Hi Dingdong,
Thanks for the reply. I was never eye scanned upon my last exit. Its just that my visa was not stamped and there is that small cancellation stamp without the residency visa been stamped.
My exit was very normal. No one asked me any question, no eye scan etc. and i left.
Does that mean, i am not been deported? No permanent ban?
Regards,
Saj
Hi Sajjad,
The only evidence that shows whether you are banned or not is your retinal scanning. If there is any ban on your passport, you can take a new passport and no one will be able to see whether you had a ban on your passport. In case if you were not scanned for retina, then you don't have a ban. My suggestion would be try your luck. In case if you have a ban, you will be asked to leave the country on the next flight. For this, you can even try on a visit visa through an agent.
Best of luck!!

Wishfullgirl , hep B is one of the test required for medical test in UAE or in Dubai, as long as your work is not under the 6 category ,you can work. But, be sure your employer businesses is not related to under 6category because sometimes they will put your visa under that name even your work is not related to that.,some employer is liar.
Please read what are the 6category ,you can scan here and read it.
Goodluck.

I was a receptionist in one company in dubai ,but after i have medical test found out that I'm hep b positive ,but I'm fit to work according to the doctor. But the government medical is advice to my employer to send me back to my country.
Be sure your visa is not under the 6 category, but if your going to make your medical here i don't know if the agency will allow you to go. Unless you go as visit visa then apply for the job which is not under the 6category.
Hope you can make it.
i already finish read the blogs here, im applying as a customer service at the airport....what do you think?can i past this?
wishfullgirl wrote:thats my big problem right now, sis, our employeer our coming here soon, on 13 &15 of april, im worried about this sickness. what your number anyway? can i text you somehow so we can talk very well...? thnk
Just send me in my inbox here, so that i can reply whatever you want to know.
If the medical test here is cleared or you pass it, then maybe you can apply that job. But as what we experience Hepa B is not allowed to pass the medical if your going to abroad.
My cousin is also Hep B and she was about to go,when she have medical in Manila for Taiwan job offer she was not able to get that offer because of her medical.
As what I've said, go on visit visa and apply in dubai.
Best of luck girl.
