MCO extention leave date

Post new topic

paulthepom

Hi my tourist visa has expired but I'm confused by the new change in the MCO . .  do I have to leave mid June or can I stay until mid September?

cinnamonape

Because of the extension of the RMCO until August 31 you should be allowed until that date +14 days.At least that is what several calls to the Ministry of Immigration have stated. There is not any yet published directive to that regard. The SPO should be announced in a day or two with specifics for each area.

Many thanks for that

Hi, is there any update regarding overstay till rmco?

paulthepom

Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO) has been extended until 31st August 2020 and it is now entering the recovery phase which is now called the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) or Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP). The announcement was made by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin this afternoon during his address to the nati

According to Malaysian Immigration authorities, social visit pass
holders can continue to stay in Malaysia during the RMCO, and will
have up to 14 days after the RMCO is lifted to leave Malaysia without
facing any penalties for overstaying. You must hold a valid passport
to leave Malaysia.

news on 19th june said we need to renew our visa if overstay.
Anyone here already renew visa? how to renew it?

There is some concern about his comments but they were impromptu about a specific case...two Indians that were arrested (out of many) that were on "Tourism" VISAS (Immigrants from India and some other countries must obtain a Social Visit Visa to enter). But he also stated that it was possible that these individuals were arrested for something other than an expired visa...perhaps working.

He stated that everyone on an expired Visa must renew it...but the facts on the ground are that it is far more difficult than simply obtaining a future air ticket.  Getting an appointment with Immigration is nearly impossible as they are booked up until September. And Immigration Officers are telling those that will leave before the required date in September comes around to simply try and find a ticket out until then.

I suspect that there will be a clarification give next week as the Minister did muddle things a bit....confusing actual criminal activity with violations of the VISA requirement...with overstaying.

Hi,

Did you see any updates to this? I am following JIM on telegram and have seen nothing to confirm or deny from the minister.

Am waiting Sarawak MM2H on visitor pass which has expired early in MCO.  Have an appointment in JIM JB for September. Getting confused now from the mixed messaging.

Last update was on 23rd June, still 14 working days after RMCO ends.

I read that, but it emphasized how they are not going to let tourists in, but didn't say anything specifically about allowing us to stay till dec 31.  For me it was good news, as anyplace I could go to is a covid hot spot.

As its an extention I feel that the only thing changed is the date. Lets hope things stay as they are
