Movement Restrictions on Expats Continue in Sarawak

While most of Malaysia is allowing the free movement of Expats already in Malaysia between States (e.g. an expat living in KL could travel to Sabah), Sarawak's government has decided to allow relatively free movement on Malaysians in Sabah or the Peninsula but NOT expats.

Expats traveling into Sarawak- even if they have been in Malaysia the full MCO period since March -or longer) will still be required to obtain a swab antigen test AND undergo a two week Hotel Quarantine.

DECISIONS BY SARAWAK DISASTER MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

a. In sync with the announcement made by Ministry of Transport Malaysia, social distancing inside air transport is fully EXCLUDED for all scheduled and non-scheduled air transport operations, including general aviation, private jet and helicopter

Malaysians in West Malaysia and Sabah

b. Effective 10th June 2020, interstate travel to Sarawak is allowed for all Malaysian citizens, as well as inter-District travel within Sarawak.
c. All Malaysian citizens from West Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan are allowed to enter Sarawak without having to apply through SDMC. There is no need to take PCR test / sample three (3) days before departure to Sarawak. However, effective from 10th June 2020, they must strictly observe the following SOP:
i. It is mandatory to download the MySejahtera app;
ii. To fill in the Health Declaration Form (E-Health Declaration) - http://sdmc.sarawak.gov.my;
iii. Random samples will be taken from visitors upon arrival via all the State's main entry points (air, land and sea); and
iv. Visitors are advised to download the tracing apps Covid Trace Sarawak and Qmunity

SARAWAKIANS RETURNING FROM ABROAD

d. It is mandatory for all Sarawakians returning from overseas to undergo 14 days quarantine in selected hotel and be tested on day 10

MALAYSIANS WHO HAVE RETURNED FROM ABROAD OVER THE LAST MONTH

e. It is compulsory for all Malaysian citizens who possess overseas travel history in the past one month to undergo 14 days quarantine and be tested on day 10, if they wish to enter Sarawak

ALL FOREIGN CITIZENS

f. All foreign citizens who possess valid working permits and Visas, including MM2H participants, who enter Sarawak are required to undergo 14 days quarantine. The quarantine cost will be borne by themselves.

THOSE ALREADY QUARANTINED

g. All Person Under Surveillance (PUS) who are quarantined in hotel to date must complete their quarantine period.

GROUPS

h. Effective from 10th June 2020, general assembly is allowed with a maximum of 100 people only (subject to the size of venue). Strict SOP must be observed such as social distancing and practice high standards of personal hygiene
i. Every Village Development and Security Committee or JKKK and Neighbourhood / Community Association (Rukun Tetangga) along with RELA will be mobilized to monitor the COVID-19 SOP such as social distancing and to prevent outsiders from entering the community area

j. Below are activities allowed during the RMCO effective from 17th June 2020. This gives the relevant ministries and agencies to refine their existing SOP and applications must be submitted for approval latest by 15th June 2020 to SDMC

5. Banquet / feasts / festivities

7. Sports with physical contact

9. Overseas travel
10. Country's borders remained closed
11. Mass Gatherings
