While most of Malaysia is allowing the free movement of Expats already in Malaysia between States (e.g. an expat living in KL could travel to Sabah), Sarawak's government has decided to allow relatively free movement on Malaysians in Sabah or the Peninsula but NOT expats.

Expats traveling into Sarawak- even if they have been in Malaysia the full MCO period since March -or longer) will still be required to obtain a swab antigen test AND undergo a two week Hotel Quarantine.

Important revision.

FOREIGN NATIONALS in Malaysia ALREADY WHEN MCO IMPOSED

"All foreign nationals including those with work permits and VALID VISAS and participants of the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme who were already in Malaysia before the Movement Control Oder (MCO) was imposed on March 18 are permitted to enter Sarawak without the need to undergo quarantine, effective today.
The Sarawak Disaster Management  Committee (JPBN) said, however, they must first seek permission from JPBN in order to do so.

FOREIGN NATIONALS ENTERING MALAYSIA AFTER MCO IMPOSED
"However, for foreign nationals in the same three categories who entered Malaysia during the MCO, they are allowed to enter Sarawak but must first apply to JPBN and must undergo 14 days of mandatory quarantine whereby all costs must be borne by themselves,” JPBN said in a statement here."

ODD...wouldn't they have already gone through 14 Day Quarantine and tested Covid-19 Free when they entered the Peninsula??? They have to do it AGAIN?
So are they using visa in the broad sense (including tourist "permit") and by "Valid"...do they mean valid on the date the MCO was iIMPOSED or currently VALID.

It might not hurt to submit a application and see if they tell you that you will need to QT or not.
