New DP approved. Can renew LOC with IPA?

Post new topic

I am working in singapore with EP. My company is transferring my employment to a different entity.

So both my EP and my wife's DP had to issued again. Both are already approved. I got the IPA letter.

My wife is currently working on a LOC. Our existing passes will be cancelled at the end of this month and my company said that new ones will be issued on the same day. My wife's company said that they will have to cancel the LOC on the day her DP is cancelled. And only apply for renewal of LOC when the new DP is issued.

Which means my wife can't work until its renewed. That's 3 weeks she'll be out of work (she's on hourly pay).

Is there a chance we can renew here LOC before the DP is issued? Maybe using the IPA?

Has someone been in a similar situation? Any advice we can reduce the time she'll be out of work?

You can apply LOC based on the approval of her new DP. IPA can be shared as supporting. Her LOC will be approved based on DP (DP FIN doesn’t change, so LOC can be applied against the DP FIN).

Your wife LOC can be initiated based on this. MoM has all the records including new DP approval. Good luck

Thanks surya2k for the reply. We sent my wife's HR the IPA letters and the LOC was sorted out easily.

It wasn't a long wait as it was the first time. Surely because As Surya mentioned they already have all the info.

Thanks a lot Surya!

Hi can you share the details of how ur wife's LOC was renewed without cancelling the existing one. I'm in a similar situation so trying to understand the process.

Hi Anurab,

have your wife’s new LOC approved by only submitting the new IPA. ( no need to cancel the current LOC and no need for the NEW DP to be issued) ? Please confirm .

Hey, Sorry I missed or didn't get notified about new posts.

It does not really matter anymore since DP holders are not eligible for work anymore. But just for the sake of completion of the thread, yes I can confirm. My wife did not have to stop working even for a single day.
