Would your ex-wifes name be Lan.

:lol: no thats the sign writers version of Alan & could not be arsed getting it changed, just hassle, her name is Thanh :top:  so it should have read Alan Thanh NHA NGHI. What stories I could tell after living in that place........all part of life's adventure!

Yeah lots of people meeting up for one hour television viewing.

I used to stay at a nha nghi in Binh Long, Binh Phuoc, the buggers were rocking up at 8am for a bit of rumpy-pumpy. So much for the sweet innocent country girls.

not much else to do out in the sticks & not like they had the back seat of a car handy......well then anyways!

My wife told me when I asked her once that maybe half of the clientele was singles or people who were married but not to each other.  :gloria  The other half she thought were married couples who lived in multi-generational homes where there might be several people like younger siblings or grandparents sleeping in the bedroom with the couple, which certainly could put a crimp on ones reproductive capacity.   ;)

its true :D

& we had a lesbian couple ( old Tom with young GF ) on the run from the young girls family. They stayed for a week which was a record for us. One day they did a runner, 1 hour after the family arrived en mass so they must have had a tip off. The girls mother was absolutely devastated about the situation.

Hi
I'm trying to work out the practicality of moving to Vietnam. Of course I would rent first to establish exactly where I would like to live, but that aside.
I'm in my 50's with years of work experience but know diploma.

If I purchased a flat/house outright, that would clearly reduce my monthly outgoing, but I would like to get work to cover basic living expenses. Is this possible?

Hope you can provide some guidance/reality.

thanks

I remember while looking for apartments some time ago, came across a website that had hosts offering lodgings in return for work.

There was one host offering a room and even meals in return for tutoring their kid english. This was in Da Nang.

Another one in Hoi An offering free lodging for working in some kind of orchard (picking fruit). I know this is probably not appropriate for you, but figured I'd mention it for anyone else.
