Hi all,
I’m Malaysian and was applying S pass since November 2019. It’s has been rejected several times, around 4 times I think, with no reason. My HR keep appealing now and the recent appeal was last month, and still rejected again. MOM still don’t give reason on this. By the way my salary is sgd 3200/month.

I have few questions about this issue:
1. The passport number which filled up in S pass application form is different with the passport copy I submit, because the submitted one is renewed passport, will this affect the result of application?

2. The educational certificate which HR submitted was the transcript instead of my degree certificate, will this affect the result?

I have been waiting S pass approval for almost one year. I’m really depressed but I don’t know what can I do and HR also don’t know the reason of this issue. Does anybody can give some suggestions? Thank you very much.

MoM does not reject without reason - they just don't tell you the reason (unless the company contacts them specifically to find out more).
There is also onlyone appeal possible per rejection, not four, and any subsequent attept will not be entertained.
I think the company's HR does not know how to deal with these things. You are better adviced to look for another option!

Edited to add: The answer to your questions 1 and 2 is Yes, incorrect or not-yet-final documents and conflicting information can lead to immediate rejection.

Thanks for your reply, beppi. I applied S pass with my friends at the same time , but they two are in different company, and they got immediate approval. Our profession is same, and also the salary but just in different company. So I tried to figure out the difference with them during the whole application process. I point out this 2 questions to HR but he don’t think that’s an issue and said MOM will ask for new passport number or double check if the documents have problem. Is this true?

For small discrepancies, MoM nornally asks. If they have the impression that too much is wrong, they reject.
But there are many other reasons that might have lead to your rejection. Mot of them are discussed in detail in this forum.

Sorry to hear your multiple attempt failed. I'm sure you very likely has the capability to excel in the workforce. You just need a chance. Chance can be anywhere in the world not only Singapore.

Meanwhile during this period there are many qualified locals in Singapore here but the job market in Singapore has been diminishing. Locals are struggling to find job as well.

To make a sensible comparison, most strong market countries such as New Zealand, United States of America, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Australia are cutting foreign labour extensively so many foreigners not getting a job in Singapore Should Not come as a surprise if most locals can do what foreigners can do as well. Unless the foreigner has exceptional skills and capabilities that is unique and is lacking in Singapore job market, for example Nuclear technology, Nano-technology setting up their offices here to service the ASEAN region.

Wish you best of luck in your career endeavour.
