Hey there. I was wondering if anyone got their new EP Application (submitted on or after 01 September) approved by MOM recently. If yes, then please share details of your application timeline.

I have been working in a travel company (with an EP) in Singapore since July last year, but as ya’ll know the travel industry has taken the most severe hit by the ongoing pandemic. Although still employed by the same company, I got a job offer from a company that’s in a different industry.

Application for a new EP was submitted on 04 September, however it was rejected on 14 September. Reason: The candidate does not meet the qualifying criteria for EP as indicated by the SAT.

My new employer lodged an appeal on the same day, also explaining why they are hiring me. The appeal status is still pending.

I’d like to know what more could be done if my application gets a second rejection. Do I appeal again or do I request my employer to submit a fresh application after 28 days of advertising?

If you do not fulfill the minimum requirements shown by the SAT, you will not get an EP.
Use the SAT to figure out what you need to qualify, then change that (well, changing education is more difficult than changing salary, but that is all you can do).
