Someone here put in this forum what was official that until March - June they will open an airport for tourists in the Philippines.
But today I asked the embassy and they say it's a lie, that they don't even know when.

Everything I've read said second quarter 2021. So between April-June 2021. I imagine it'll be closer to April, since tourism is almost 25% of the Philippines GDP.

I watch the interview with the DOT Secretary this morning. Over 30 minutes she just talked about the domestic tourism with the opening of Boracay yesterday (35 tourists among them 7 from Manila all the others from Aklan) and Baguio (with 200 visitors allowed per day). El Nido, only one resort on an island is open. Elsewhere it is closed mainly because the mayors and governors do not want to open them to people outside their provinces. So there is some kind of power struggle between LGU's and DOT. The Secretary is for reopening asap because of so many people who lost their jobs in tourism.

For the international tourists, she said it is totally blocked, too complicated for now. She was thinking of opening the Asia market first but the asian countries are still closed. So wait and see !

At the moment all none Philippine residents are required a visa prior to arrival.  I am coming from the UK and visas are only being issued to spouses of Philippine residents.

The process through the Philippines residency was very quick they provided my Visa within 3 working days.
