Makati immigration office

Anyone extended 6 months tourist Visa recently at makati immigration office? Thanks.

Hi Richard, not me, from my reckoning/experience renewing for 6 months you will have to go to Intramuros, send your Makati office an enquiry on FB. with your question, I think only Intamuros and Cebu (possibly Davao) do this.
Off topic but related to other questions here and other sites. A national ID for citizens and expats. Hope I don't get into trouble here but it seems to me that the immigration department cannot inter liaise/process with satellite offices for simple things (some want to keep control) such as 6 month visa extensions. A national ID for all Filipinos and expats? Ain't going to happen and while it's been on the agenda for some time my better half opinion is the same. There is no fluidity within many government department so how can one hope for a singularity between all departments?
Sadly.

OMO.

Cheers, Steve.

Thank you steve.  My last extension was only 2 months.  So troublesome to go there every 2 months.  Time spend and money spend.

As said ask them on FB, get your answer. I am in San Fernando La union and abide by the 2 month rule, for me it is half an hours drive, most times I am the only one there so easy peasy apart from the express lane fees, i have enquired if I drop my passport off 2 weeks before, no sir everyone pays the express fee.  Last time, here is my receipt as there were no stickers for my passport 2 months ago, still no sir, so now I have to carry my receipts every time I extend my visa, a little like number plates? So until I decide to go the SSRV route that's my life.

OMO.

Maybe I  just overstay until commercial airlines is available? Maybe just pay a " administrative fine or fee" ? Any comments is appreciated.  Thanks

OMO Richard but depends on how long you have been here, 6 month EEC required, I would advise you to keep your visa in order or you will not get exit clearance and potentially be booted and black/listed banned. (deported rings a bell) Free/assisted international travel? How long? I think evacuations from the Philippines ended months ago for expats stuck here trying to return to their home countries, may be wrong.

Only my lowly opinion/suggestion but I would follow the rules, extend your visa (be legal)  until such time you can find a flight out and don't forget the protocols to leave.
Have a good coffee and a meal while you are out and about, a JD or 6 could help too.
Good luck with your choice/s

Cheers, Steve.

Agreed with Steve...best to take on the necessary hassle in your stride & stay out of trouble with the local immigration.
Again omo & best of luck buddy.

You can do 6 months at SM Aura not too far away, I'm not sure on Makati but I don't see why it would be different if they are doing extensions these days

Richard Yan

Hi petex. Thanks for your feedback.  When is the last time u got 6months extension? I went there 1 month ago. They offer me only 2 months extension.  The last time I got 6months extension is before the quarantine,  February 2020.

Yesterday! In and out in 15 minutes and picked up the passport and new ACR card 90 min later.

I think you need to do it before the previous visa has run out, and maybe the first extension after arrival can't be 6 months (I'm not clear on the exact rules)

Richard Yan

Thanks Peter. I will take your advices.  Will go there next week.  Will update the group.

If you don't do it before your visa runs out they will charge you to renew it then proceed with next order of business! The first time i paid and extra 2700pesos. The next i paid only 500 for any and all visa business because my father is a Fallen Hero in the Philippines! How awesome! I will try to post a copy of that receipt so if any are in that boat they can take a copy to BI and ask about it!

Can you not just a different visa like SRRV?

Richard Yan

Very good 😀😀
