Recommendations for English speaking Colombian lawyer?

Post new topic

CaliRay

I need to consult with a reputable English speaking lawyer familiar with civil and family law who lives and works in Colombia.

The Embassy should be able to give you some names.

Langon Law Group successfully handled several matters for me in recent years, including obtaining a one-year visa and drafting my South America will.

The firm is based in Medellín, though it is set up to assist Expats anywhere.  I was in Armenia, Quindío, while the principal attorney, Alan Gongora, and his visa specialist/senior paralegal dealt with the visa application steps from their office.  When it came time to have my passport processed for the visa in Bogotá, they had their man in the capital handle that step at minimal cost to me.

Alan is a 2003 graduate of Harvard Law School and is perfectly bilingual.

I receive no financial benefit by recommending Langon Law Group.

CaliRay

Thanks for the comment and second opinion.

The Langon Law Group doesn't handle issues that I asked about. Anyone have other recommendations for lawyers who handle civil matters in Colombia?

Hello everyone,

I am currently fighting a custody case with the mother of my son. I've changed five lawyers in the last 3 years. One couldn't spell my name correctly, another blamed me for his mistakes, and another had almost no experience and so on... You shouldn't search for someone just because they speak English; that doesn't mean they're a good lawyer. I finally settled with the last one, who was a recommendation. He is a good guy and a good lawyer. If you need his contact information, let me know. ***
