Rach Gia move?

Post new topic

keithwbentley

Hi All.
I live in Baltimore and work for a guy from Rach Gia.  He has, over the past ten years, been telling me I would LOVE living there.
I've not been to Vietnam and from the research I have done, was leaning towards the north.
Saying that though, is there a good site/forum I could get onto to look for a small cafe/bar to purchase?
In and around Rach Gia would be great.
Nothing crazy.

Ebay?

Nguyen Hieu Loc

Buying shops near Ferry stations to/from Phú Quốc island and other nearby beautiful islands would be great.

Wow, you have so many steps just to get to the road so that you can put the cart on the road before the horse that it isn't even funny.

First you have to be able to even enter the country-which you can't
Then you need to decide where you want to live
Then you can look for a Vietnamese partner to buy 51% of your new business that you can trust won't run off with our money.
Then you can figure out the myriad of details required to owning a business here, how to bribe the green police and figure out how you are going to do your accounting.
Then you can work with a lawyer to get a work permit exemption so that you can own and draw profit (hopefully) from said unnamed company.
THEN you can finally start looking for businesses for sale.

Good luck!

Let's not forget about the competition.  I have been to Rach Gia and there is plenty of competition, unless the corona virus has closed many, but I have not been there in a few years.  Assuming things go back to normal, he is going to need local help because for sure, he does not want to take business from the wrong people.  My advice, stay in Baltimore and vacation in VN.  :)

Keith,

All that the guys said are correct.  Business in Vietnam is not for the light of heart. You are not welcome here.  Without the help of trust worthy and influential Vietnamese here, you are doomed, even before you start.  So, don’t rush into anything yet!  Keep this in mind, Vietnam is force to open its market to us.  So, don’t expect them to hand anything out...
