Yes, i received the email with positive answer. Nu ben ik Belg. :-)

Aparently, the public prosecutor forgot to answer on my file and because the deadline was over for more than a month therefore they can not answer no. So they provide me the answers with Big YES.

7 months 13 days.

So, yhe myth about no news is a good news is kind of true.

Cheers

1. Make an appointment with city hall, show all the papers you have if all okay.
2. You can pay the court fee online by "MyMinfin" website.
3. Print the proof
4. Submit all the documents to the city hall.
5.Sign the declaration paper

You done.

Bedankt. 😊
Yes police visited
Normally they just ask questions such as when you came to Belgium
Are you working?
What is you occupation?
How long do you living in this place?
This house is rented or owned?
Why do you want to be belgium.
Why do you apply for the citizenship.

As I own the house they did not asked much was very short. But if you are rented or they feel suspicious.
They may be will ask for you electric or water bill. how much you pay every month. I think Depends person by person. May be enter you home and try to analyze if you really live together or something is not fishy. In my experience they do not test your language skills but make sure they can put remarks about it.

About the language skills. You have to submit integration certificate for that you have to complete the minimum level of Dutch or French.

But if you work consistently for 5 years and you can proof that. The no language proof is required.

Hello jaci
How you know your after 3 weeks your file accepted even I’m 3 weeks it’s difficult to know?
I applied 14/01/21. And still waiting even I didn’t receive any second letter from commune.and I asked again to my commune they said you file has been send to public prosecutor office 18/01/21 but they said in 2021 you have to wait 6 months and side you got answer in 3 months strange🙃

Hi Kash,
Did you receive an update on your application?

When did you receive your 1st letter from the cityhall? (saying they have forwarded your application to public prosecuter).

After how much duration, did the police visit your house?

Jaci78

Hi Kash,
I got to know that my file was accepted because the lady said in city said she will send it immediately.
The day I went to city hall and the day police came for control was 3 weeks.
Then April I got a mail with all my documents plus a letter saying I got positive.

expat2021

Hi Jaci,

So you didn’t receive any mail(by registered post) from the city hall that they have forwarded your file to the concerned authority ?

Jaci78

Nope. The only normal post I got in my mail box was my documents plus the letter.

Kdeepak

I think it depends on the province. I also did not receive any second letter about submitting the application. I think this only happened in Brussels province but i am not 100% sure. I submitted mine in Flanders.

expat2021

Thanks for the info.

Ak Kash

I’m still waiting and police didn’t visit me coz city hall sent my file to naturalisatie after 2 month so  one month more I have to wait lets see, normally police man time to time talk to me bcoz police station front of my home everyone know me 😅😅😅

sandeep Maniani

Hiii akash
But you told that your file was sent to prosecutor just after one week so why they are telling you that it was sent after 2 months

Ak Kash

Yeah they told me like that but after two months latter I received another letter from city hall and there was date on it so I understand even I call to city hall they said you have to wait….. that’s all

Oh god.
Typically when we submit your docs at the citizenship application office, they issue an acknowledgment. The acknowledgment receipt specifies that the local commune/cityhall/citizenship office has 1 month to forward it to the prosecutor.

However, you mention that the local city hall/commune forwarded your file after 2 months. sad.

expat2021

A clarification:
Do they have different channels to process files based on the card we hold-e.g.
(1) F/F+
2. B
3. D
4. 10+ years resident
5. 5 continuous years work
..... so on..

Ak Kash

I got my answer today now I’m Belgian without any interview.🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

sandeep Maniani

Hiii ak congrats you recieved a letter or you went to commune ?

Ak Kash

Commune send me letter that your nationality has been approved they ask me to bring a specific passport size picture.

olimpiafragoso

Congrats on your citizenship, well done.🎊

Ak Kash

Thank you so much 😊😊😊

Welcome to the Crazy belgium family.., 🇧🇪🥳🥳

mobganstar

Hi everyone
I want to ask this question which I really don't understand. I have 2 sons and they are living in Africa..my 2 sons were born before I got my nationality so my question is dat.. Can I apply belgium passport for them in Africa or can they get belgium passport if they come to belgium with reunification visa?

AlexFromBelgium

no, they won't get the nationality because of you as they were not already in Belgium and under your care when you received the Belgian nationality.

If they come in Belgium, they'll have to do the full process of requesting the nationality after 5 years of stay.

mobganstar

Thanks Alex for your reply en now I have understood it now. Thank you very much again

It is not possible directly you can sponsor them to belgium and then they have to complete the process step by step but the Process could be different if they are minor.

Ak Kash

Thank you so much it’s mean I’m also going to be a crazy 😝?

mobganstar

Yes they are minor. My first son is 4yrs en my second son is 8 months.they wil be in Belgium next month.pls can u tell me which process can I follow if they arrive here in Belgium for de nationality?

sandeep Maniani

Yess they will get the nationality like you said they are minor you should consult this with civil servant in your commune . My uncle go through same process for their childrens

mobganstar

Thanks sandeed for de reply.

NO!
If the children were in Belgium once the mum got the Belgian nationality, then the children will automatically get the Belgian nationality as well.
But it's not the case here!

There were not under legal stay in Belgium and not under the care of the mum when she got the nationality!!!
==> 5 or 10 years of stay in Belgium process like any third country citizen.

It is a good idea to send an email to the commune or nationalities office. These days communes are adopted to emails. So, it will be in black and white, if you receive the email.

Jaci78

I have a colleague she is from African and has Belgian national. By the time she got it her son was still in Africa so when she brought her son here, he was give F card. So the same case might apply to your situation.

Hello, here are the steps in my processing time in wallonia .
1. Commune took my application and studied for 1 month and forwarded to prosecutor's office.
Received a letter from commune that they have forwarded my application to prosecutor.
This letter says that the processing time is 4 months (with due date for final decision).

2.  +3 weeks police visited my home.

3. + 3.5 months, I called the prosecutors office to know the status. They said no decision is yet take.

4. By 4months, I tried to login mondossier. I am able to enter the PIN. But, not able to login due to certificate issue. So, I understood that they have approved my application.
Note: Some of my friends in Flanders were able to use mondossier even after their application is accepted.

5. mailed commune. they confirmed that the application has been approved.

Thanks to those who shared their timelines.
