@Bhavna - I'm a little confused about what is allowed and what is not. This is a thread looking for dentist recommendations. The last two recommendations have been redacted. I know that members cannot share their personal contact information, but I don't understand why a dentist's name and contact info aren't allowed on a thread asking for recommendations. If this is the new rule, then we won't be able to share any recommendations for professionals.

This is so because we have received several complaints from professionals not wanting their name and contact details to be shared on the public forum (everything posted here is referenced and clearly shown on google). So now, we anticipate and remove them and request members to share names and contact details through pm.

Another issue is also advertising. Some dentists have been advertising on the forum or sending staff to advertise on their behalf.

So, we have 2 issues (confidentiality and advertising).

There is another potential risk but I haven't yet seen this on this thread (defamatory content often used as a tactic by competitors)

I would like to know if this policy is for every type of business or just dentist , are the mention of taxi’s, restaurants , Attorneys. Car dealership and hotels also ban… just wondering 🤔

@Bhavna Wow - that’s pretty limiting! So are names okay without emails and phone numbers or can we no longer mention any professional or business, and thus no longer share recommendations? That really puts a damper on much of what we share here.

         I’m hoping the if a business is listed on google it’s in the public domain and if I want to tell people about a great restaurant or I would like to pass along the name and address , or maybe a bad restaurant…..

Is there a good dentist for implants in las terrenas? I have heard so many good things about dental tourism in Brazil and India...glad to know it is here, too. Any Las Terrenas recs? I was thinking of asking at the one near the Cuban hospital, which is excellent. I had a UTI and it was cheaper there than my US copay and way better too! Thanks!!

@Ineedsometerrenasinfo If you are asking about Odonto health that he mentioned, no, it's not by the International Clinic - it's across from Home Acosta on the top of town. That's where we have gone for cleanings/checkups, and I had one broken filling replaced.

@ddmcghee thanks for this. I'm thinking of getting an implant here. My dentist in Brooklyn wants 6000 dollars- this is normal. I'll look into them. I went by the Cuban hospital and saw a dental place next door- and  I had such a great experience at that hospital. Good to know you like Odonto!

my oral surgeon wants $4000  he’s in New Hyde park and he’s great especially if you ask for the gas before he puts the needle in , I’ve used him several times and never a glitch

@Tippj Is that upstate NY? I love gas! No one uses it! My last one in Brooklyn was terrifying and painful.
