Construction loan to build house in Puerto Rico

Hello, I'm a Veteran and I would like to build a house in Puerto Rico. Which bank did you use that offered a construction loan to build your house? Could you explain in detail what information does the bank need to be approved for the loan and if possible the credit score needed to be approved? How many months did it take to finish building? How big was the house? Approximately how much did it all cost in the end? The VA has a program called the VA construction loan that allows us to build a house but it's tough finding a lender.

hey everyone,

im joining this conversation years later amd just starting to go through everything yall went through. Im wondering how it all turned out for everyone? we are in the middle of getting a VA loan and now they allow you to build your own home with this loan. we are looking into barndominiums. Do any of you know a contractor that do these? any specific bank we should be looking for to get approved for an alternative home auch as a bandominium? my plan originally was have a kit delivered and find a contractor do the building with that. I havnt seen much on any of this espcially dealing with thr VA Loan specifically so interested to hear all information! thanks so much in advance!
