Research Scientist salary in Shanghai, China

Hi all,

I wanted to ask what is a good salary for a fresh European PhD graduate (27 years old-Male) from a European Country in Shanghai, China?
It seems that I will have the opportunity to move to Shanghai as an Expat and I might need to negotiate a salary, with a big chemical company which has its HQ in Europe.
Since I have no idea what to expect from a salary perspective and the cost of living (accommodation, health care etc.) in Shanghai, I thought it would be a good idea to ask on this forum for more information and advice.

hi there,
for fresh gradate doctor, package for locals are about 200-300k RMB,
for local graduate, about 15-20% is exacted from salary for medical/endowment/unemployment/maternity insurance, u can negoticate with employer.
and also life fee: 5k~for house and 2k for food.

for suggestion you could charge 400k-500k, good luck.
