Cost of living in Accra is normal; but as realistic person; I believe you have to balance the books with your profession; As example; If you earn 2500 per month ( work) and the rent is 1400 per a month; could you leave on the rest?
Cost of living depends on your lifestyle. If you live in a big house with aircons and home helps and drive a car with a driver, eat out a lot and have weekends away then it is an expensive place but if you are modest in your needs and eat more local food then you can probably manage on $1000 a month if your accommodation is covered
