EP Rejected: - Any Successful Appeal Results as Approved EP

Not 100% relevant to your case but I recently got rejected for Financial Services with 1y experience. The rationale was that the qualifying salary for this sector has increased, but in fact my salary was already above the new minimum by a fair bit.

HR tried to appeal twice to rationalize the salary but didn't succeed, and it was annoying that MOM kept replying with generic messages For some reasons, I think MOM must be placing a higher salary floor on my case, so that it's more commensurate with my credentials (whatever that means).

So What happened with your EP and what's the status .. your HR Reapplied Again..

infoseccerts: How did your employer justify the appeal? Did they adjust the salary, as MoM suggested? Or did they submit a convincing explanation why MoM‘s salary standards don‘t apply in your case? If neither of the teo, it will be rejected again.

Hi beppi.. Salary has been adjusted and provided the justification as well.. but still in rejection state... employer consultant is not sharing complete information

Just wanted to check, did you check you required salary in SAT? Was it meeting the new threshhold?

Even I will fall in somewhat same criteria only diff will be that my S Pass is already under same company and they will renew it to EP with new required salary, Beppie had advised me few things but the employer is not responding me much, I believe they will do the best thing as they know better, will keep posted.

Yah..the provided salary is meeting the new criteria and its little bit above that.

Have you got your appeal approved. Any updates.
My EP has been rejected with the same comments “High salary” and asked for assessment and bank statements which the company has submitted in the appeal. Appeal is made on the 21st of April no updates yet.
I’ve not Extended my contract with the current employer hoping the EP will get through as I haven’t faced this rejection anytime since 2011, but it’s very unfortunate. Hopefully appeal should get through.

Is it possible to check the appeal status ?

As of I understand only the company who appealed can see the status as pending, for the employee it’ll still show as Rejected, until it is approved. Correct me if I’m wrong

Employer raised a query to mom after completing 3 weeks for the ep appeal .
And mom response was,

"We need more time to review . We will make every effort to get back to you within next 3 weeks"

Did anyone get the ep appeal approval after waiting another 3 weeks?

Is it possible to withdraw appeal request ? If so how long will it take for that?

Kindly share your experience and any advice on this.

It's almost 2 months for this whole process. 😞

The employer can withdraw (cancel) the application at any time. MoM will delete it usually within a day or two.
But that means you lost the opportunity.

Yes.I also thought the same. May be atleast 50% chance is there to be successful .
I will wait for next 3 weeks then

Rosemary: Just because MoM wants up to 3 weeks additionally to review the appeal, you wish to withdraw the application? I’m sure missing something, do you wish to withdraw because you have a different offer from another employer?

Time taken by MoM, is not in anyone’s control, you have to do your part in providing the righteous inputs and hope for the approval to work out. Additional scrutiny is the new norm and we all have/ are accepting that. Approvals are not instantaneous, just because you want them to be

No. I did not look for any othet opportunity .
Since I got negative feedback from agency after receiving that response ,I thought to check the possibility of plan B. Work permit on Dp.Bcs few of my friends got wp.
But finally I decided to wait for this appeal .

Hi, I am working in Singapore for over 8 years already. Last October, I renewed my EP but unfortunately, my EP was rejected. MOM's reason is to increase the salary. My company is also allowed to increase the salary and appeal to MOM on 8 Nov. From November until now, I am still waiting to approve my EP renewal. Now, I’d wait for four-month already. What do you think about my appeal letter to MOM? Will it be good result? Does anyone also wait too long as like me?

Looks like now a days EP appeals are new normal.
My new EP applied on 23Dec 2021. Rejected on 21Jan for background verification. Background verification completed and EP re applied on 9 Feb. Again rejected on 21st Feb with same reason as background verification. Appeal made by the employer this time. And waiting for appeal result until today.

Before all these another employer had applied EP on 5Oct 2021, waited until 22Dec 2021. No change in pending state so requested them to withdraw EP application.
I had lost job on 18 Nov 2021. Have heard 2 of my indian friends went through 2 appeals before successful approval.
Currently all in nail biting stage. Wish all these end on a positive note.

Mayoomon: Such a long waiting time for the result of an appeal is not normal. Your employer should contact MoM to find out what is holding it up!
When is your current EP expiring?

Beppi: my EP is expired in last Nov 14 but my company is apply the extension every month while we waiting for the result. Should I call to MOM and talked with officer?

MoM will not talk to you, the employer should contact them.
Are you now out of the country, or what visa are you holding since the expiry of your EP? I hope you stopped working then!
