Congratulations randomexpat!

Mine is still in the waiting period.

Applied last June 14, 2021.

I would like to share my experience here.

I received an offer from company and salary hike was 8.5K from 6.2k.
Ep Applied on 01-May
Ep rejected on 13th July due to high increase in salary. I didn’t go for appeal because my current EP is going to expire in last week of August

So I asked my current employer to submit EP renewal. As per SAT my salary should be 7K to be eligible for EP. My employer revised my salary to 7K and applied for renewal on 16th Jul
Ep renewal rejected on 23rd July due to increased salary
Appeal submitted on 24th July with justification.
30th July- MOM asked Employer tax related documents.
1st Aug: Employer submitted all the necessary documents
11th August: Appeal rejected, asking for educational verification. My University is listed in SAT tool drop down. Still MOM asked for document verification
12th Aug: Submitted application to RMI.

Don’t know what will happen. Fingers crossed

Hi all,

This forum is informative! Just share my past and current experiences with the EP application.

Past EP application
Next Employer Industry: IT Services
Year in Singapore: 7 months
Working experience in relevant position:  approx. 7 years

April 2020 - I was resigned from my existing employer without getting a new job. (I knew this is risky...).
05 May 2020 - Tele-interview of new job opportunity by a local agency.
15 May 2020 - Job offer acceptance.
18 May 2020 - EP application submitted by the agency.
19 May 2020 - EP approved and IPA letter issued (surprisingly quick)
Note: 7 April to 31 May was the CB period.

Recent EP application
Next Employer Industry: Logistics & Supply Chain
Year in Singapore: 1 year 9 months
Working experience in relevant position & industry:  approx. 9 years

20 Aug 2021 - EP application submitted by employer.

Hope this time going smooth as well :)

Thanks Maolei for sharing the experience. Good luck with ongoing application.

Is your application still pending since May 2021?

Hi Chandra_R, sorry, my fault, the submission date was 20 Aug 2021, and it's status pending since the submission, no additional information is acquiring by MOM at this moment.

Chandra_R

Thanks Maolei. There was a typo in my message ( i mean to ask new application Aug 2021 instead of May 2021).
Nevertheless all the best Maolei

Hi Friends,

My EP applied on 26-Aug-2021 and got rejected today (4-Sep-2021).
Anybody can help me to know from where i can get reason of rejection as in MOM site it is only showing rejection?

beppi

Rnayakcs: Did you make any attempt to find the answer by yourself? This has been discussed (and answered) numerous times on the forum!

HI everyone,
Just want to share my experience. This is my first renewal after holding my 1st EP for 2 years.

Date renewal application: 27 Aug
Approval: 29th Sept.
Industry: Media
My age: 52
Nationality: Malaysian
Salary: 10k +

In between there was a rejection as company needed to furnish financial details.

1) My question is, what is the average number of years the renewal is for? My 1st EP granted was for 2 years. Now is for 1 year. Is that standard?

2) Also, how many times can we renew a EP?

Thank you and wish all of you the best in your renewals and application.

beppi

Jamesq: EP renewal period is at the discretion of MoM, normally a year but sometimes two or three (or even six months only). EPs can be renewed indefinitely, as long as you still work for that company and fulfill all requirements.

jamesq

Thanks for the insight beppi. I felt a little gutted as I thought I read somewhere that renewals are 3 years. As such thought there might be some tighter rules.

Thanks SagaCity for the time to provide your inputs.
Am almost in the same situation.
Need your input on the withdraw request from Company B. Was there any issue or the company B agreed to withdraw the approved EP?
