Hi
I am working on IT sector for 10 years and 8 years work experience in sg and also completed my masters in NTU. I recently got a offer for 9k my previous salary was 6400. But I had a variable bonus of 36k so 2020 I got a annual package of 112k. New offer has no bonus structure so at max will get 1 month bonus. The new company applied for ep and in pending state. MOM has asked teh company why such a raise in salary . I have submitted my NOA from iras for 2020 which specifies 112k as employment income and also they asked me to provide 3 months salary slip and bank statement which has been given. So what are my chances of approval.
Also my spouse is singaporean will that help in approval ??
Spouse as Singaporean may not help much though. Yes salary hike is definitely a reason MoM always look into. If employer provides a valid rationale then MoM would accept.
If your new job offer letter stated clearly that you are not entitled of bonus then your rationale is acceptable that you went for higher salary instead of variable bonuses. Good luck
Hi,
Did you any get positive response from MOM.
My employer, a small company, that doesnt require job posting has applied for EP on 15th Mar. On 23rd Mar, it was rejected asking for additional docs like (NOA, Bank statement, payslips, Job desc, job contract).
The appeal was applied on the same day i.e. 23rd Mar but still awaiting for the reply from MOM.
Thanks,

Did you get any response from MOM? I'm in similar and waiting on the outcome of the appeal.
Hello,
For the query from Kumar, as mentioned by Surya above, a strong justification with supporting documentation which clarifies the salary hike, should be acceptable. The new employer can certainly write in the cover letter that you are just being offered a competitive salary with no variable/ bonus.
@windscar21: The submitter usually gets the reason behind a rejection. Would urge you to request the submitter to identify the reason (they could as a last resort call MoM work pass division), appeal with the supporting documents/ info to secure an approval (after knowing the reason, that is).
Hi All
My Ep was approved on Apr 30. Thanks

Hi Kumar,
How long MOM took to approve EP after submitting the doc?
I am in similar situation and submitted the required docs on 23rd Apr. Also, in my case the employer is expemted from job posting as its a small company with less than 10 employees
Application submitted 16 Apr 2021
Document request 23rd Apr 2021
(Payslip NOA and bank statement)
Application Approved 30 Apr 2021
I don’t when it was approved but got the ipa from hr on 30th April

Hi Kumar,
May I know your company profile? The reason is, the company that had applied for my EP is small one with less than 10 employees and exempted from job posting on the career portal.
I never had to wait such a long time for EP approval and wondering whether company profile is the reason behind more scrutiny from MOM. Any idea
Date of Application: 15th Apr
Rejected and Appealed on (along with requested doc) : 23rd Apr
Thanks
Hi All,
This is Aryanshi [link under review] EP was applied on 30th March by a consultancy for software testing role and it is pending as on today.I have around 3 years of experience in testing and my current salary is 4000sgd.Ep was applied for 5000sgd salary since it was the minimum qualifying salary for financial sector.I also hold a masters degree from a public university in Singapore.
I would like to know if there are any chances of EP being approved? Also, has anyone got EP approved after 1 month.
Awaiting a response with regard to this message.
Thank you all!
We have mentioned many times that it’s the employer who can project your case with rationale. Inform why and how they hired you instead a local. So, in your case it’s 1 month now, few cases it takes 2 to 3 months. Many expats got their work pass application approved after 2 months or so. Good luck
Thank you surya for stepping in whenever queries are posted.
Another concern is that my current occupation specified in my ep application is slightly different from the one mentioned in my Singpass account.
Will this be considered by MOM for approval?
Thank you!
Which one is accurate, EP application or SingPass? I am assuming the occupation on EP application is accurate- if it is, it should be fine.
Thank you shekhz for your reply. Singpass has the correct designation but my ep application has generic one like for eg: IT Analyst,IT engineer.
Hi I am almost in the similar situation
My last drawn salary was 5850
My new company (startup) 10 employees oferring me 8000
And my EP rejection came on 6 May today
Has anybody has the similar scenarios
I am 11 year experienced Technical engineer
Mom has rejected my application saying why such salary hike .
I just wanted to know what are the changes my appeal will be successful if I provide all necessary docs .
MY LTVP is valid till 6 June . Are there changes I will get the approval before that ?
When should I start application for my DP ? In case my EP doesn't get approved ?
Sanchita26: You are not a new member here any more. Thus you should know that posting the same message multiple times is not appropriate. I have removed your other one.
Also, you probably have seen that we encourage our readers almost daily to read related forum posts instead of asking the same question multiple times. I believe all your concerns have been answered already - and you can find those discussions by using the search function on the top right of the page.
If you then have specific questions that were not addressed yet, please come back and post them here.
Okay very specific question
I am stuck today I got rejection and my LTVP issued by my last company will be expiring on 6 June. My question is
1)what is the time frame for filling an appeal?
2)should I Ask my husband's company to process my DP first so that I can secure my stay in singapore and then file appeal or should I go with appeal now
3) what will be the chances of approval if we provide all necessary documents and justification considering my new company has just started in singapore with 10 employees and how long do they take to answer an appeal
A company cannot issue an LTVP (or any other visa).
1) An appeal can be submitted immediately after rejection, but it is worth investing some time to prepare it well.
2) Applying for a DP "just in case" is probably a good idea, but since DP applications don't take that long (1 - 2 weeks), you still have some time.
3) Your chances depends on many factors - not least how well the employer addresses the rejection reason. Read about it in the forum!
So we have decide to submit do first so that I will at least I can ensure my stay safe in singapore
Once DP is approved will file appeal the same day
Hope this make sense .. what do you think?
We went for DP first because what if they reject my EP again then I have no choice ,have to leave singapore
Hi,
So far I have been a passive observer, but these posts really helped me during my waiting period. So I want to share my experience with you to let you know there is light at the end of the tunnel.
My current salary is 5110 and my new employer offered me 7500, so its nearly a 50% increase. EP got approved within 10 working days. Summited on the 23rd of July.
My employer used a 3rd party consultancy firm to apply for EP. I'm guessing they had a pretty good cover letter.
Guys, don't sell your selves short go for the salary you deserve. If it can be justified you will get the pass.
Good luck to you all!
