Hi @standaman1967 please give us some feedback on how you are experiencing the 2 weeks hotel quarantine, and what you had been able to organise (Admin and Formality-wise while there).

Were there any difficulties arriving at the Airport, either with Visas, Passports or COVID measures ?

Did you use your UK Medical aid / insurance to qualify for the Premium Visa, or take out one for 12 months from one of the Mauritian companies ?

Were you able to secure a short-term rental for your family or is that being finalised on your 1st day of freedom after 2 weeks quarantine?

WE ARE STAYING IN FLIC EN FLAC AT THE SUGAR BEACH WHICH IS A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL. THERE'S NOT A LOT THAT CAN BE ORGANISED FROM WITHIN THE HOTEL OTHER THAN SEARCHING FOR A PERMANENT ADDRESS AND SETTING UP APPOINTMENTS FOR AFTER OUR EXIT.

Were there any difficulties arriving at the Airport, either with Visas, Passports or COVID measures ? THE ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT WAS VERY WELL ORGANISED AND SMOOTH. A LITTLE PATIENCE IS REQUIRED TO GET THROUGH THE COVID TESTING BUT IT WAS AS WELL ORGANISED AS COULD BE - AND THE RESULTS WERE SENT TO THE HOTEL WITHIN AROUND 6-7 HOURS.

WE HAD TO TAKE OUT SEPARATE INSURANCE (WITH SWAN) AS YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BE COVERED FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY UNDER THE PREMIUM VISA. WE FLEW EMIRATES WHO ALSO OFFER A VERY GOOD POLICY AS PART OF YOUR RETRUN TICKET BUT THAT ONLY TOOK US UP TO APRIL AND WE NEEDED TO SHOW COVER FOR 12 MONTHS.

Were you able to secure a short-term rental for your family or is that being finalised on your 1st day of freedom after 2 weeks quarantine? YES  WE HAVE A 6 WEEK AIR BNB ORGANISED IN ADVANCE WHICH WE ARE GOING TO USE AS A BASE TO EXPLORE THE VARIOUS NEIGHBOURHOODS AND TO DO OUR VIEWINGS OF HOUSES.

REALLY ENJOYING OUR STAY SO FAR BUT ALSO REALLY KEEN TO GET OUT INTO THE REAL MAURITIUS NOW. BEST OF LUCK AND SAFE TRAVELS!
