Partnership Visa

Garlic Bread

Hello, po! I am a Filipina living and working in Thailand who is in a relationship with an Italian guy who lives in Switzerland (born and raised.) We are in an LDR relationship for almost 2 years and he's visited Thailand several times but I haven't been to Switzerland. We are planning on living together in Switzerland but we don't want to get married yet.

I asked the embassy about unmarried visa and they said we need to apply for National Visa Type D.
Would we have a hard time getting visa since I havent been to Switzerland? I have lived in the Netherlands and has visited a lot of countries if it adds to my chances of getting the Visa. Has any of you ever been on the same boat? Any help/information would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you po!

I GUESS its similar as its common in other West European countries,
=Demanding the boyfriend to GUARANTEE the living costs during visits/stay.
Expect it will take long time to get a decision.  For a friend of mine in Sweden iit took 18  MONTHS to get his Thai gf to Sweden, although he had no problem to show enough money.

I dont know for Switzerland but there can be different levels
/VISIT to see if want to live there or just visit
/STAY. Can be a long test period, and later permanent.

In some countries it can be harder when not married,
while some countries make no difference between married and live-in.
