I am checking to understand ep renewal process. My EP expires in the fist week of October 2021. As per ICA  calculator on website, we can apply for renewal now. However I heard somewhere that my employer will get notification from MOM asking to renew. Is that true ? Do we have to wait or apply for renewal ? Please advise 🙏🏻

Your employer can submit the renewal request upto 6 months before EP expiration date. You don’t have to wait for a notification. In my opinion, kindly push for the renewal now, in some cases renewals have been rejected with an ask for additional information/ educational certificate verification. So get to it ASAP!

Thank you !

Following up on my EP renewal query.. I understand MOM is asking for verification of educational certificates and degrees randomly.  As I ask my employer to prepare for applying for renewal, do I get my docs verified by RMI proactively ? Or it’s not required and I do it when MOM asks me.. will MOM accept pre-verified docs ? Please advise..

Few queries-

1. Do your universities/ degree issuing institutions show up on the application page? If yes, you don’t have to get them verified unless MoM circles back, rare scenario

2. Is there any change in your education that wasn’t reflected in your last application? Like have you done Masters after Bachelors which is an addition, if yes, to be on the safer side and ensure you don’t run into delays (get the verification done).

Does MoM accept verification reports that are not current? Yes, if it is done by the 4 outlined agencies, it is acceptable as the purpose is to validate your credentials and the awarding institution.

Try the MoM pass application, it has an education institution drop down, if your college/ university is listed- you should be ok (high probability).

Yes my university does appear in the SAT tool (if you’re referring to that) and there is no update in my education recently. All details were provided and was verified during earlier EP approvals. Thank you for such detailed response. You’re truly doing service to all of us in this difficult time 🙏🏻God bless you !

Appreciate your kind words, I am just doing my bit and sharing whatever information I have given my experience as an EP holder and expat in SG.

Keep us posted.

Thank you ! One last question... University appears in SAT tool. Does that store different information than Application tool ?

If your certificates are out of India suggest swallow the few hundred dollars hit and get it done. I will suggest Avvanz or RMI in that order. The only reason one could have not to check is the 200 SGD ~ 400 SGD saving on the other hand saves you all the trouble assures you a positive outcome. Period.

My certificates are from India.

Any idea how long renewals are for these days? Is it common to renew just for 1 year?
